  1. Last year I purchased 33000 silicone skirts from a guy in Canada. He was selling them because "some" of the collars were defective. When the shipment arrived I began to go threw the order and found only a handful that were bad, so I thought I had made a good purchase. SOme of the bands were a little on the loose side, so I purchased replacement bands, and have been replacing them one at a time. My problem now is that the bands are getting worse. They are no longer loose, the are decentagrating. I have a garbage can in my basement that is slowly filling up with all different colors of 5" silicone strands. My orginal order of 33000 skirts will end up around 15000 skirts at the current rate. Does anybody have any good ideas for what to do with all of this loose material. There is no way I could go threw my can and reassemble the skirts. It would take way to much time and would not be worth the effort. Pleas if anybody has any suggestions let me know.
  2. No offence Del, I do really like the plastic I purchased from you, but it smokes a lot. I have tried to microwave it on a low temp stirring it every 30 seconds, and it still smokes. The plastic that I had from Lurecraft hardly smoked at all wether it was heated on a hot plate or the microwave. I know that there is a whole gaggle of people on here that sweare by you products, and I do like the feel of the finished product. I will continue to use the rest of the gallon and then see how it goes.
  3. IMO, a one piece mold would give you a good shape, i'm not sure how clear the water is where you fish? If the water is dirty there like it is here on the Ohio, a good dark colored bait with a lot of scent on it that resembles a bait fish would be fine. If you are fishing clear water where you would need a lot of detail, a two piece mold wold give you a better looking bait. Hope this helps.
  4. I will have to agree with jmik26 on this one. I purchased some of the calhoun brand plastic, and the stuff about smoked me out of the garage. I tried heating it up really slow and had the same results. I do like the feel of the finished product better though. My next purchas will either be MF or I will go back to the LC.
  5. IMO, Lurecraft colors are the best. A little goes a long long way. I just recently purchased a bunch of colors from DEL-MART, and I have found that I am using alot more to get a good color. It's a little more up front for the LC colors, but they will go a lot futher.
  6. No matter what the conditions are, my absolute favorite plastic lures are: 1- black 6" strait tail worm 2- 1/2oz black weedless jig with black blue chunk 3- 6" strait tail worm in my own color that I call 2-cycle
  7. I have to agree with earthworm77, I am a hazmat tech, and after each use we throw the filters away. I do not use a resperator, and have had no problems yet  . I pour in my garage with the door open and window, and it vents pretty well. Kinda sucks now though, 28 degrees outside.
  8. I don't wont to sound too selfish, but I am going to waite to divulge the process until I can get an aluminum beaver mold. If anyone noes the whereabouts of the elusive beaver mold please call.
  9. jmik26, you hit the nail on the head. My lure was/is the beaver bug, I have a better name for mine though. My lure is a lot better looking than that one, I also have a different idea that they are not producing. I also have a great new lure that I am also working on for crappie.
  10. Well well well, I got the new bass pro shop mag today and my awsome lure that I have been making is in there. Only some other company is making it for Bass Pro and not me. Oh well, on to the next great idea I guess. At least I wont have to worry about the patent anymore
  11. Having a great idea for a new lure, wasting a bunch of space on the TU asking people for help on how to get it out, and then opening up the new Bass Pro shop mag and finding my lure for 3.99

    Salt

Well the bass diden't seem to mind the butter flavor, if fact I think they liked it. I went fishing on Saturday with a buddy of mine to a private lake on a Golf corse, it was 48 degrees, and sunny with little wind. We went at about 9:30 am, and by 12:00 I had cought 20 bass. Now these werent HOGS by any means, but my buddy was using his store bought baits and only cought one fish. I think I will continue to make the baits with the popcorn salt
  13. Bondo will be my next try. How well does bondo work with soft plastic? I was reading some of the tutorials on the subject, and did not see the bondo soft plastic in there.
  14. Thats what I would like to do, but I cannot seem to get any reply back on a custome mold. A friend of mine has an uncle that is a cnc operator and I think I will see what he can do. I made a mold out of plaster and it sucked

    Salt

I tried it out the other night, and I actually liked it. I mixed it with the few colors that I curently have and was able to make some pretty cool colors. I think I will use up what I have before ordering any more of the white salt.
