I would recommend M-F sinking soft. It requires about 30% less salt than other formulas which will produce a more transparent bait with better colors. I mix in 1 capfull of softener per ounce of plastic.
If you go with their SS you shouldn't need any softener at all.
Have you thought about making your own compound? You can get a one pound block of pure paraffin which is very hard and stiff and mix in some beeswax which is softer and more pliable . Both should be available in the grocery stores for just a couple of bucks. As far as the jewelry wax goes, I was in the business and preferred to work with the green. You don't carve the jewelry wax. You heat up a dental tool and melt away to form your model. Just a thought
A dollar to doughnut says that not only are they made in China but painted there as well right in the same factory as the knockoffs. I'm not saying it isn't a decent jerk bait as is the ko's but to write the garbage below is an insult to peoples' intelligence because it is an obvious attempt to copy the Megabass Vision Ito.
Master angler and revered fishing philosopher Rick Clunn joined forces with Missouri-based Luck "E" Strike Lures to design the the RC Stick Jerkbait from Luck E Strike.
The American companies that are copying the high end Japanese baits, are producing baits that are no better than the better quality unpainted knockoffs. I'm not saying both aren't decent baits but they are not in the same class as the real thing. You get what you pay for and if it's too good to be true , then it probably is.
If you want an inexpensive open pour RTV, I'm sure you can find one at Lurecraft. I use to have a bunch of resin molds from those swimmers. You can also just buy a few baits and pour some Bondo brand Fiberglass Resin over them. Makes a great bait.
If I am going to a fish a place that is different from the previous body of water fished, then a new selection is made just for those waters. All the bags go into a rather large soft sided bag only used for plastics. I've learned to leave the plastics in their bags. Once I get out on the water I usually end up fishing out of the same one or two bag of baits the whole trip! If I didn't bring it all with me I would have been saying, "if I only had.....
Nice work and clever idea! The baits look great. I have to commend you and say that it takes balls to put a new idea up on a public forum. Good luck to you with it!
I saw a turner here on TU using the closthespins. I found hemos real cheap on e-bay a while back. I also have 3 extra dowels that hook right on if need be. I use the hemostats when painting also so it works well for me.
You can't go wrong with the Iwata Eclipse CS Coast Air will also match prices. You can use it for base coat, detail, etc. Allot of guys swear by the Iwata Revolution. Either way I would recommend any gravity feed Iwata. I don't know much about the Neo. I have read numerous reviews which were all positive. The price scares me because I always find out the hard way. I get what I pay for! Good luck and have fun.
Go to thrift shop and buy some butter knives or silmilar. You can use Colorado spinnerbait blades for the paddle tail. I think there might be a tutorial somewhere here. Use the search engine
Romeo, give it up already. That was from two (watch my lips) TWO Novembers ago I will more than likey get my Lung Transplant before you get those molds
There was a recipe a while back. Try a search. I think it was Alsworm's recipe, I used it and it worked great. It used M-F Cinnimon, I believe. If you can't find it, try PM-ing him. I never did use LC's Oxblood for anything.
Createx white is the thickest of all their paints. The transparent colors are the thinnest. You have to play around and get use to and familiar with your gun, paints and compressor. Less psi requires thinner consistency. There are also good airbrushing tips, tricks and tutorials on You Tube

These are excellent quality blanks that require no prep other than maybe hitting them with a little steel wool prior to painting.
