  1. If you do some searching, you can find them. It takes times as there are a lot of companies, most being just middlemen and not the actual manufacturer. I had the same idea as you and spent many hours of search and e-mails. Alibaba is the place to start. The best price I found on the particular blank I was looking for was .95 each and had to purchase 1,000 Not a bad price. yeah, not a bad price if I actually receive my merchandise or the of the high quality I thought I was going to receive. There are just too many companies and factories to know which one or ones are reputable. I just buy my blanks from the few vendors that order from China. Believe me when I tell you that they have stuck with some crap. Take a lok at some of the 1.5 and 2.5's that are out there. You have to fill in the seams and sand the bellies smooth. Those are the crappy ones. There are ones out there that require no prep work and run perfect. I buy in larger quanitites and get a better price. I don't mind paying a few pennies more and let the vendors deal with the headaches. Just look on e-bay and you will see a few people gettting rid of the ones they got stuck with. There are good quality blanks and there are, well...........crap. Of the good quality blanks that I have bought, I have yet to throw one away in the trash because it was made poorly. I rather support the Chinese econony @ $2.00 a blank than the Japanese for $25
  2. Glad you goit it figured out, Mark! That's why I always used M-F. Rock it back and forth a few times and your good for the day. Might cost a little more, I don't know. I do know one thing.......I'm not one for prep work.
  3. Just giving other options. He already paid for the paint and if he thins it 25% or so it will go further. I guess I missed the grainy hand carved pine bait part.
  4. Why don't you just thin you Createx White a little bit? It will spray and cover just fine. Their white is thicker than any of their other colors.
  5. I doubt it's the scent or the coloring. If you throw a capful of softener into the amount of plastic you cooked up, it wouldn't give you the results you got. A dollar to a doughnut says thye plastic wasn't shaken up enough. That being the case, the rest of your batches will probably come out a litter firmer than nornal since you more than likely used up a bunch of the softener that was on the top of the container.
  6. They come from China. Shoot him an e-mail and see what he'll take. He is the only vendor I know of that has those blanks.
  7. Yes.....I usually run mine from about 10-11am til about 8pm every 3 days. I've done this for about a year. I have it set up for 20 lures. A roast weighs quite a bit more! I use BSI 30 Min Slow Cure Epoxy. I use dowels w/clothespins stuck right in the motor so it is right on the centerline. I believe it is 3rpm Works great!
  8. Johnny Rattlers had them in the 70's?
  9. The answer is..... D: could be one or all of the above. What I have done to virtually eliminate this (other than improper mixing) is to spray the lure with something like a transparent color (i can't divulge my secret sauce). This will cover any oils that might have come off your hands while painting. Loading up the brush and letting the clear coat "flow" helps alot as opposed to "pulling" the clear coat. Just what seems to work for me.
  10. I have seen those on e-bay. They are pretty neat looking. I'm sure it will take some practice because I have seen them on and off for over a year. Maybe a dremel is not the tool to use. Other than asking them how it's done......maybe try making a template and then use a marker. Are you making the cuts and then painting?
  11. www.predatorbassbaits.com has 100mm and 130mm. I have painted many and also fished the 100mm and is a good blank. Out of about 100 blanks, I haven't had a bad one yet. It also has a slot in the mouth and gills. I have not tried his 130mm. He does stand behind his merchandise.
  12. You might try a local machine shop?
  13. If you want something with bulk, get Delw's 10.5" full round Diamond Tail
  14. Thanks! I have seen that stuff up on e-bay and have been to their website. See ya.......going shopping!
  15. How is the odor on both the pearls and the Wasco?
  16. and then stir some more! every two sticks and remember the hotter the plastic the thinner it will be which enables the salt to sink faster. The salt is fine right out of the box assuming that you are using Mortons. Some people grind the salt which allows the salt to suspend better but you give up the transparency
  17. http://www.tackleunderground.com/community/topic/22015-green-pumpkinseed/page__hl__roadkill__fromsearch__1 The search feature is your friend, Bill
  18. .....and all along I thought the Weather Underground was responsible for the hole in the ozone layer
  19. All that was asked was how to make the color Aarons Magic. I've used Pyperx/Anchor cups without incident since the 80's. Even with the introduction of hand injection, the hand pour method method using the microwave and Pyrex/Anchor brand is still widely used. Not everybody plays with soft plastics for it's big profits. Some still enjoy it for it's art form.
  20. I would use 3 1-cup size Anchor brand cups. All 3 will easily fit in a microwave. They are smaller in size than the Pyrex and have narrower spouts. Only fill the cups 1/4 way. It is just a matter of timing and a little practice. What works best is an open pour rtv mold because it retains the heat or an aluminum mold sitting on a griddle turned on to warm. Believe me if I can do it anybody can. You will also get a heck of allot more satisfaction than filling up an injector and shooting it into a mold. A caveman can do that
  21. http://youtu.be/ENCthkloALMHere's a friend of mine you plays/upgrades with his reels. Maybe you just need to upgrade the bearings to Boca bearings
  22. Google the name of the fish and click on images
  23. Aaron might be color blind but the bass aren't. Keep mixing those colors
