  1. Created for tackle makers of any kind who have any supplies they have that they don’t use for one reason or another to make available for sale or auction to fellow tackle makers. THIS IS NOT FOR BUSINESSES TO SELL THEIR MERCHANDISE
  2. Yeah, I remember quite a bit of stuff went poof several years ago. Don't remember the detail as I need some storage myself!
  3. One way you can go if they want you to repaint their baits.....have them do the prep work...remove hardware and paint or at least rough up the clear coat and/or sand down any nicks...charge them the same price you would normally charge (as mentioned above) less the cost of your blank. Paint a few of your own blanks in that same or similar scheme as well. If you sell your baits for let's say $15...then $10 for their one and you'd make another $45 (for 3 of yours) for basically the same amount of work time. It's about enjoying what you're doing.....Just don't be painting while everyone else is fishing if you already have a main source of income.....just a thought
  4. If i remember correctly, which might be questionable...when I was pouring plastics, I took a spray bottle and mixed the HL powder with some DA and sprayed it right on the plastic. The DA evaporated and left the HL powder on the plastic.....might work pretty good on a hard bait. If it's a bit thick you might be able to just pull the needle back a hair......pulling the needle back might work for spraying clears as well.
  5. The odor issue is just for me. Emphysema...should have specified that. Even D2T bothers me. I don't have a problem with BSI (Bob Smith Industries) 30 minute slow cure epoxy odor wise.....very similar to D2T in usage...doesn't pull away from edges but still can only do 2 baits 3 if you rush it...
  6. Maybe a little oil from your fingers or hands? That will cause the separation or pits.....also if the epoxy is starting to set this can happen as it is pulled by the brush. I know you're not new at this but thought I throw it out there. It really needs to flow. i use epoxy as well and the working time is 2 at a time but can't take the odor of e-tex. One thing I do after EVERY bait I paint is spray it with something...whether it a flip/flop paint...flair tint, Polytranspar shimmer.... this covers all and any contamination. Also keeps your signature from smearing if using a Micron pen. @Mark.....if you dip your brush in DA after mixing the the epoxy to a froth (I use BSI) it temporarily thins it and all the bubbles are gone instantly and the DA evaporates. I use to exhale on the bubbles to degass but was always afraid to end up with a mouth full!
  7. Yeah, why change what's been working.....hard to believe these rotisserie motors have been working for 6 years....and I bought them used on e-bay....the best a different system would do is cut my space in half not to mention I was lucky and picked up about 5 hemostats cheap. I use them while painting and clearing and then right to the clothespins. Guess I like to complicate things...thanks!
  8. Looks like I can just slap one of these together. I have a microwave motor several extra dowels with the clothes pins already made up using my same system. Won't save space but i will on money and won't get stuck if/when these go!
  9. I would appreciate any feedback, input, alternatives, etc. concerning this turner. As you can see, I am not handy. I paint 10-20 baits during the day and clear coat the next morning. Time for a new turner or two. Believe it or not these have lasted me a little over six years and still going strong. I would like to consolidate some space and at the same time don't want my turners to take a dump when I'm not prepared for it. I can always put these away for emergency. I don't care to throw money away but I am NOT going to make another turner. I believe these will hold 10 lures. Does anybody have any experience with them...good bad or indifferent...or any other suggestions. My objective is to have new (hopefully a turner or turners for 20 cranks) and compact in size/space. Thank in advance for your suggestions....
  10. Wrong forum SenkoSam.....but I would venture to say the cups are scratched up on the inside......still sell flake?
  11. Let's call a spade a spade.....You don't like people who paint knock off blanks....you never did and voiced your opinion about it many times. You think they have no business even existing and if you don't/can't make baits from scratch you don't belong here. Other than the S crank which has a patent pending I believe and not a patent, a dollar to a doughnut says you can't tell me 3 common KO's that "ARTISTS" paint are patented........haters will always hate...Lucky Craft who i believe made the first of the square bills have been copied by every major company in existence. Those baits as well as the KO's are all made in China. A few high end Japanese baits are produced in Japanese factories.....Everybody has different abilities, preferences and niche's....why don't you just let everybody be and go on with what you are doing? You don't paint KO's, so if it don't apply, just let it fly........
  12. It doesn't change direction or "S" like the original. Only runs off to the opposite side you sweep the rod and then straightens out again. Found out by accident testing in the back yard. Forgot to put a split ring on. Probably because of the way the bill is...don't really know. I'm all thumbs and have zero knowledge of making baits....I can only paint. Put it this way, my 2 favorite tools are vise grips and impact screw drivers!
  13. They're going to be knocked off anyways if they can even get a patent. GW never bothered to try and patent the Senko. AS far as I know the only companies that send out Cease and Desist letters and will go after somebody is Reaction Innovations and Zoom....especially zoom. Even to the garage bait maker.....They lurk right here as well as steal ideas. I've seen several pics posted and then copied by the big guys over the years....
  14. If you don't use a split ring, that blank will hunt a bit and then straighten out. Sweep the rod to the left and the blank goes right, then straightens out and visa versa.
  15. What doesn't become mainstream?
  16. Yeah....they should make toothpaste like that......
  17. Great...they already think we're the same person! LOL....Learned that one from Cadman when he mentored me with skirted baits. I got lucky once and they had them in the $1 bin at Staples....No wonder they're out of business!
  18. I have always use this and use it with every eye that goes on...last thing I want is the eye to slide when brushing on the BSI Epoxy. Few pennies extra but pays for itself with one bad bait at best....one broken window at worst! I don't own a dog to kick.....
  19. When using DA with BSi make sure you mix the epoxy first and then add the DA. The bubbles should disperse once mixed. I does look like the epoxy was "sucked" in.When bubbles bust they don't look like that.....I've been wrong before, though just ask my ex-wives!

  22. or even a trophy shop. They use those laser engravers
  23. It's funny how some people will run their mouths and make accusations while their heads are where the sun don't shine. If you had half a brain, you would do a little research before making an ass out of yourselves......If you do a profile check and/or check previously posted threads by me you would know this......or even do a Google search.....I'll save you a little time....I started pouring plastics before the first presto Pot came out and was mentored by Jim of Ghostbaits.......developed Emphysema and couldn't pour plastic any longer. Because I enjoy creating things, i started buying unpainted but already poured lead for skirted baits and was mentored by Cadman......got a bit bored with that, bought an airbrush and found out i had a knack for it. Since I became a member of this site, I have read EVERY thread in soft plastics, wire, and hard baits......As far as myself and Brian being the same...like I said look at the damn profiles.......we live 2,000 miles apart....as far as being partners....lets say.....if a blank bought from a US Vendor cost $2 how much profit is there for that vendor...and to split that? DaleSW if my short answer, while I took the time to answer a question while I was working leads you to believe that, then sir you are an idiot...Vodkaman, I thought you knew me a bit better than that.....but of course we all know that you have an answer for everything! I have learned everything I know about tackle making here on TU and give back every opportunity I can, however i do not appreciate people slandering my name because their fingers work faster than their brains!
