  1. For every $50 you spend, put $10 aside.............................for rehab and you'll be just fine!
  2. Michaels carries Etex and you can use their weekly 40% off coupon for it.
  3. I'm a bit confused. You posted this just two days ago. I just recently got into pouring and started selling Grubs that I hand poured myself with old plastics I melted down and with a Mold I made with Plaster of paris. I gave a few to my friend and he said he caught a 2 pound Smallmouth bass with one of the Grubs I gave him. I have a prospective buyer who wants to buy up to 1,00 curly tail Grubs that are modeled after the Mister Twister grubs, Is $.05 a grub a good deal? I cook salt and crawfish scent into all my plastic I melt and load the grubs with Salt and scent and affter the cool, I soak them in a bag full of salt and Crawfish scent. I am sending out a sample pack of grubs to the prospective buyer tommorrow. Any suggestion for making these grubs have a better chance of catching 4 pound + Smallmouth bass? I've attached some Pictures.
  4. What type of bait are you trying to mold? Are you gluing or taping the model to the bottom of the pan/box and pouring the resin over it?
  5. These will make your life allot easier. They're also a TU member and listed in the links section http://www.drfun.com/SkirtMaster/
  6. That's it! When you pour your first color, stop about 1/2" shy of the opening . This will alleviate clogging the opening.
  7. I love the search feature! http://www.tackleund...__fromsearch__1
  8. That was great stuff. Thanks for making them available to all!
  9. Looking forward to seeing the new stuff and you're right about going through Atlanta...........if there is such a thing as "a good time" to drive through there! Good luck and be safe.
  10. Funny, I've never had anyone ask for baits bagged that way. I think it makes your worms look like crap. Tell them to bite the worm. Or better yet include a little salt packet like you get from McDonalds and have your logo printed on them. Sorry, I guess I'm just in that kinda mood today. But seriously don't let them drive you crazy. If they like your baits, they will keep buying them.
  11. Ok, George........The storm isn't on the horizon! I will co-sign for anybody looking for justification to buy another mold!
  12. Regular table salt should be just fine. The only real purpose for salting baits before you bag them, is to aid in the bagging process. It really serves no other purpose and hides the color of the baits and comes off the minute it hits the water. But.....the customer is ALWAYS right!
  13. Just shoot your video and we'll walk you through it!
  14. Would this be for your own use or for production? If it is for personal use, I myself would hand pour.
  15. That was always on my "to do" list. I've gotten as far as moving the tank from one room to another! It does make quite a bit of difference being able to see it. Slap them on You tube with the web address in the background and you can't beat it for bringing in business.
  16. The stuff is pretty potent. I would start of with just the tip off a knife or match head, stir and take a look. You can always add more but not take any away. With the RTV you should not have any problems with cold cracks. You could easily wait 20 seconds for the second color and not have a problem. The RTV retains the heat better than aluminum. I would do 12 cavities one color, and then go back and do all the second color. Your timing should not be the problem. It sounds like your second color just might not be hot enough. You WILL get it, keep at it and let us know what happens!
  17. Believe me that it is ALL up there. That's how I've learned and continue to learn. There are complete discussion of the trials and errors of all of it. It does take time to go through. You should try different key words and combos of them. If you still are having trouble, what specifically are you doing and what are your results. What type of molds are you using? RTV molds don't cool as fast as aluminum and there are less problems with cold cracks. How long are you waiting before pouring second color. Giving as much detail to what you are doing will make it easier for someone to help you find a solution.
  18. The slight purple effects you are talking about would be violet highlight powder. I suggest reading all of the archives that are available here Do a search in the soft plastics forum for: pearls highlight powders For the two colors try searching laminates cold cracks multi color pouring If you are using an aluminum mold, try pouring with the mold on a pancake griddle. The layers will bond without cold cracks. There's a wealth of information up there that will literally save you months of trial and error. I couldn't tell you how many times I've read all of it and still do VERY regulary. It is certainly worth the time to sit down for a few hours. Everything you ask and will ask is up there for the reading. It is also a heck of allot easier than waiting for someone to post the answer to your question.
  19. I never had a problem using this M-F Manufacturing 55 - Green Chartreuse (non-bleed) e-mail me if you'd like a picture of a bait
  20. I use the same 4 x 2. They are top quality and I believe they also have free templates as well.
  21. I used the pot strictly for pouring sticks and larger orders of frogs and 10.5 tricks. I tried using it for injecting but found it easier for me to just inject from the Pyrex they way I had everything set up. I started the plastic at 350 on the dial and backed off to about 330 when ready. I never used a thermometer but went by the viscosity of the plastic and how it poured out. You can't beat the pot for pouring sticks as it eliminates having to stif between every two sticks.
  22. Best thing since sliced bread! You can pour as little as one cup of plastic with practically zero waste. The stirrer is the key. I sprayed my stirrer with a little Garlic Pam and the plastic wipes right off. For cleaning the pot, I just used a high temp spatula and gathered what was left over off the bottom. Great for pouring sticks as the salt will be mixed and every bait will come out uniform.
  23. My favorite for c-rig are reapers and french fries. I'm sure they work well for drop shot as well. It depends what baits you like to throw The mold makers are listed here: http://www.tackleund...ksdb?category=1
  24. That is is pretty cool! I can't wait to see what you come up with for the slicer.
  25. If I had to pick one size, I would use .035 which is a medium sized flake. Good for just about anything and the size I used the most.
