Dinger has all quality blanks

You might try a Calligraphy pen using the airbrush paint. They have different size tips...pretty inexpensive. I think a whole kit of 10 interchangeable tips run about $12....Michaels w/40% coupon

I've been using this while painting clear coating and I'm very happy with it. Keeps me from breathing the paint particles floating around especially after base coating a bunch at one time. I also have an exhaust fan in my booth. I use only waterbase paints and clear with epoxy. http://www.turbineproducts.com/breathecool-ii-supplied-air-respirator-system-w-half-face-mask/

Yeah ...I have the 7mm.....you might want to ask him.....I just figured everything under the picture was that item.

Predator has 8MM silver with huge black pupils

In most cases a bent needle can be fixed. Place the end of the needle in the grooves of a pair of pliers. Clamp down, turn the needle and clamp down again. You can get any nicks out and re-polish with fine wet sandpaper.
-
Those are not available....look above at the "suppliers" directory or look through the sticky on the top of the page....
-
I sptriz the needle with water and wipe with my fingers between almost every color change. Especially white, black and any iridecence or pearls
-
let us know how goes it....and the search engine above is also a great tool as well as You Tube.....
-
you can buy glass cabochons on ebay....I bought them years ago...hard to find 5 and 6mm so you might be doing some searching

It isn't about mixing the colors, it's about the paint collecting on the needle....spray some black and then pull the needle out. A dollar to a doughnut there will be paint on your needle....Hold the gun further away and don't pull the trigger all the way back. i don't know if you are doing that or not. It looks like too much pressure. The more you thin the paint the less it will adhere to the surface. Don't get frustrated or kick the dog............just yet! Also, spray the gun empty on your arm to make sure you don't have any moisture in the line....

Great idea...showing it on You Tube as Vodkaman stated....I stopped after you did the gill plate in black Createx...what I see right off the bat, you are holding the gun too close at that pressure. if you have an eclipse with a .035 tip there is no need to reduce it. The first paint you used is very thin and you need to have a light touch on the trigger. From the looks of it, it appear you are shooting with too much pressure as well. Are you pulling the trigger all the way back? Don't......takes practice. If your regulator says 7psi when you were shooting it is wrong because it looked the same each time to me. For example, if your regulator say 30 before you shoot, it should go down to about 15psi once you start shooting. that is your working pressure. Let me watch the rest Just viewed the rest...can't really tell but are you pulling the trigger all the way back? I would like to see another video showing your compressor with regulator reading. Sounds like a Harbor Freights or TC Global compressor. Try shooting leaf green createx if you have without thinning. Go easy on the trigger and make sure the gun is clean. fill the cup with water. Pull out the needle and wipe any paint off. Unscrew the to nozzles and make sure there is no paint in there. They have cheap brushes for cleaning...water is only necessary if you are using water base paints Before you put the needle back in, put the nozzles back on and back wash. Put your finger over the nozzle and pull the trigger. it should bubble nicely. Spray some water and it should be a nice evenly round mist like when you first bought it. needle back in and shoot the water out. I do this between each color. Takes 30 seconds. I only need to REALLY clean my gun once every 6 months this way....works for me...

Start a private Facebook group.invite only....done! Takes 5 minutes

White has more pigment than the other colors. If you are having trouble with Createx white try pulling you needle out a tad. I don't thin any airbrush paint but will use a gun with a .05 tip if it doesn't shoot well in my gun with an .030 tip. I can use the smaller tip tio do bellies but not base coat a dozen baits. If you thin an opaque then you are now shooting a transparent. Defeats the purpose and requires more layers. Just what work for me....what size tip are you using??? I also pull my needle and run a brush (water only)through the nozzles and backwash between each color...Takes 30 seconds at best and only have to REALLY clean my gun once every 6 months.

Createx makes Sand

I hate mixing colors probably because I suck at it and I'm lazy. This works pretty good.....for my taste anyways...Polytranspar water base Sahara Tan...misted over a white base....Taxidermy air brush paint......might have gone a little heavy on it.

Thanks for your post AZ Fisher...at least you got a response. The blanks are just sent from one place to another and sold. I should say one thing. Once I bought 80 topwater blanks from Wlure. They sank like a rock! I contacted them and received a response with 2 hours. They said they would check with the factory. Received an e-mail within 24 hours and a full refund. The guy as some integrity and told him so. i made a few zipper pulls for my kids and their friends and then sold the rest to someone whom I think wanted to make some sort or ornaments. Maybe I'm suppose to keep these two boxes and teach my kids to airbrush! Live and learn....LOL..but I'm slow and ordered twice! If you order some 2.5's from Wlure or even 110's and then order from just about any US vendor, you will see they are not the same..

The blanks I paint and sell run true from the get go. Have not had any complaints in 5 years about them performing from the get go. I do not buy them overseas. I buy them right here from the guys that pay about 2K to have molds made and not have their blanks sold to every vendor or middleman. There are reputable vendors overseas that are not easy to come by or find. Believe, I've spent hours upon hours several years ago searching which took up too much time. I gladly pay the $2 or so for the proven blanks. I never ask for their sources because this is how they make their living. I know they spend countless days locating these sources and many have gotten ripped off over the years in the process. If someone is telling to it cost 5K to have a mold made, they are lying through their teeth. If i took the time to do all the work I wouldn't give my source out either. Not only is there the cost of the mold but also a minimum purchase...Most vendors are using their money from job #1 to pay for these. Everyone has their own wants and needs. I can catch a bass and have on a piece of shoe string but i wouldn't put eyes on it and sell it.....

Ok...just to prove a point,I ordered 25 1.5DD foiled and some chugger ko's from Shelts...The foiled ones, i would be embarrassed to sell to anybody. i truly believe that these are blanks that have been tossed aside as not sellable. The film is all scratched up. The bills do not have the blue plastic film on them. The film is not sealed right and have little bumps on the back that need to be sanded down. They do not come in individual plastic bags. A dollar to a doughnut is that these are factory rejects. I have bought thousands of blanks and never once had to "tune" one. Never even tested one. All these e-bay cheapies, Shelt's, wlures are all middlemen and anything easily Googled up are crap that aren't worth painting. To find quality blanks yourself, you need to spend hours finding a quality company overseas Some US vendors do use these garbage blanks as well. Buy a few and compare like I do and you will see. A quality blank requires zero prep work, is not super clear, does not have a plastic smell and does not have any flashing from from being glued......This is my second order and never once got a response to my e-mails but they still don't have a problem sending more crap to me. You get what you pay for. A reputable company will make you a mold and not reproduce blanks from it for anybody else.

Do a search for the "tap method"in the wire baits section

Yeah, you can tell styles for sure, Frank...Hope you enjoy your Thanksgiving...hey, I finally got to meet Romeo after all these years. His twins and my kids caught a couple of 5lb peacocks in the backyard! Love your video and pass them around. Most won't share diddly in the hobby/business. I commend you and Solar for that. You are a natural teacher......I apologize for hijacking this thread but a Happy and safe Thanksgiving to all the TU member new and older than me!

Hard to believe they were partners. I know several people still waiting for molds from Del for 5 years now.......Famous words.....They're shipping Tuesday!
-
I knew they were related, Frank. Most of my molds came from Bob.I don't think anybody else made alum molds other than Del back then and 1/2 were open pours. I use to buy his prototypes from Javier when he was done with them and have Bob reproduce the ones I liked.

That's how Basstackle got started. Bob is Kevin's uncle. Great guy, just not big on computers....
