  1. Thanks, Eric. I received a pint of the soft as well so there really isn't room for much error. Thanks, Camrynekai. I would think you could achieve the same "wiggle" with just using the sinking plastic only. If the fall rate you are getting is the same as you did before, maybe add a little softener.........Just a thought. I've always tried to get my sticks about 12 grams and adjust the wobble by adding softener and hope they don't tear up like a Yammy. I guess that would be the perfect stick! Richard
  2. Thanks for the post. Was any softener needed?
  3. Sweet Baits! I wonder how Reaction Innovations gets away with their Trixie Shad and Shark???? Does Zoom only go after the little guys?
  4. I don't know if they have what you're looking for but check it out. Smooth-On - Mold Making and Casting Materials for a World of Applications!
  5. You should have better control if you use less plastic in the cup and pour in all one continuous motion. also, Anchor brand makes a smaller 8 0z version cup that I use for harder to pour molds.
  6. I just went through well over 1,000 of the GTzip bags. They did hold up fine and certainly served their purpose. I think one or two out of the lot were defective. I don't believe any of them split at the seams. They are 1/2 the price of laminated barrier bags, but the I think the old say of "you get what you pay for" applies. The negatives I find with these bags are: They are not as clear as laminated barrier bags and therefore the baits do not look as appealing. Labels do not stick well. They do not leak however they are not air tight. Most scents will get tacky when left out. I believe the baits get tacky because these bags even though they did not leak they are not air tight. If you are pouring for yourself and your friends, the 4mil GtZip bags will do just fine. If you are selling baits, I would suggest the laminated barrier bags. Just the appearance of the baits alone are worth the extra nickel!
  7. Sounds like some good stuff! I bet the baits look great! Is any softener needed?
  8. What method of pouring the sticks did you have difficulty with?
  9. WOW, I guess I might as well not even wait for my sample and just grab a 5er! Thanks for the great feedback!
  10. It sounds like you're not mixing up your plastic well enough prior to pouring. Even if the plastic does not settle out, the hardener will go to the bottom
  11. I agree with JD. The baits cool in a few minutes anyway. Having water near where you are pouring can be an accident waiting to happen. Like smoking when you're pumping gas!
  12. Collins Customs - Custom Mold Products makes that one. Most of his worm molds are not shown on his site. E-mail him for pictures and prices.
  13. You do not want to use the same microwave you use for food.
  14. I'm surprised that BPS even gave him a hard time, since they've copied just about every soft plastic bait on the market!
  15. They have tutorials here as well. I believe the most popular is the Oomoo 25 Smooth-On - Mold Making and Casting Materials for a World of Applications!
  16. Go with the 5 gallon. There is a learning curve with colors, etc. You won't have to worry about wasting a few baits either.
  17. Try 30 drops of LC Orange for 1 cup plastic
  18. Wipe a drop or two of worm oil or scent in the molds before you pour. They will come out with a glossy finish.
  19. Watch out she doesn't want to brush your hair and dress you up!
  20. It more than likely won't ever set up. I don't believe it was ready to pour. Try this: Use a smaller amount of plastic say 4oz Nuke on high for 1:15 seconds Take it out and look at it and stir The plastic has to go from the thin liquid state and thicken up to a gel (which I believe you never reached that state) Nuke for another 30 seconds look at it and stir. It will go from what you started with to a clear gel state and then to a thin pouring state. If it hasn't done that yet, nuke for another 30 seconds look at it and stir. If you watch it actually change states you will get a better idea. Let us know your results.
  21. Thanks, Nil and Shane. I'll try that as well. JD, I'll try and post a pic shortly.
  22. I saw that on his site. I had at one time the prototype mold for that bait. It was a bit smaller but still a nice bait. It poured super easy but it needed to be bigger. Now it's bigger and I might be in trouble again!
