  1. I'll take what's behind Door "A" What do the fish say?
  2. Thanks, Chris. I have both those colors and was thinking maybe that. I haven't used the Cinnamon yet but I guess I'll try that first. The bait seems to have a little red in it. Like I said, as long as I get close because the customer's baits vary a lot from bag to bag.
  3. Thanks for the responses so far. I don't have brown. Any suggestions with what to do about that or replace with? It doesn't have to be exact, just in the same family. Richard
  4. I hope someone can point me in the right direction. Pictures 1 and 2 are are baits sold by another company (they call it mocha) as the same color but they are inconsistent in their reproduction. Anywhere in between the two would be fine. The third one maybe some brown watermelon and ? I can come up with plenty of good colors from scratch. But when it comes to matching, well....forgetaboutit! :eek:Any and all help is appreciated. I will be making various worms without salt.
  5. I think using the mixer is your biggest problem. You are creating the bubbles using this method. When you add the pop to your water, try to gently mix it up with your hand. More like working it in with your hand than stirring around. With the store bought plastic, try heating it up slower as well and stir out the bubbles before pouring.
  6. Just a thought. Are you using plastisol or remelting store bought plastics?
  7. These guys are gone from TU, but I Googled this up. I have a friend that uses this method for attaching plastics and it works well for him.

  9. Believe me, I realize the hassle but how will anybody know how to contact you for more baits?
  10. The right place and right time certainly is right now on lake Okeechobee. For the last month and a half they've been killing them on swim baits. Thursday my buddy caught a 9.00 and placed 4th in the co angler last weekend.
  11. Check your local Dollar Store. I buy a 10 pack of sturdy aluminum baking pans for $10. I think they are 11x5
  12. Maybe with a smaller bait it will work. I have an 8 cavity 10.5 trick and I still have to go back and top off. Not as much as the other mold I have but I still have to go back and top off.
  13. You can go to avery.com and download the templates.
  14. I like the way Mrbilky describes it. Sounds like the culprit. Also, I've never seen a mold that you don't have to top off.
  15. I use the 2"x4" peel offs. I put my logo and the color and that's it. I used to put what type of bait, color, etc. and was driving myself crazy. All of my orders are internet sale so they know what type of bait they ordered. I seem to spend as much time with the packaging process as I do pouring.

  17. Yeah, I'm probably the only Hand Pourer in the world who was buying sticks at the store! No more, we tore them up on my sticks this weekend. Small, but tore them up none the less:yay:
  18. I built a Presto Pot about two years ago but it's been collecting dust because it was a pain in the butt. I was stirring by hand and stayed far away from making any salted sticks. Bear sent me one of his stirring systems to try out with my pot and I can say that it made all the difference in the world. I poured a batch of sticks without any problems whatsoever. It sure beats the heck out of stirring every two sticks! I'll most probably will get another complete system as the cost of his pot is about the same as me making one with having to purchase the hardware for it. I'm also not the most handy person, not to mention being basically lazy!
  19. I keep mine in the 5 gallon container w/spigot it came with. I keep a one gallon filled next to me as I pour.
  20. Just throw the salt in a coffee grinder or blender
  21. Great job! Can you make another one with a weedless hook? I'd like to flip that into some heavy cover!
  22. I made a big peg board for inventory. Well, since I am never able get ahead and make any inventory, I now use the board for my baits to "set up". It works out great. I leave the sprues on and hang them on the board with a fan in front. The next day I take them down and snip off the sprues. I use the inexpensive scissors they sell at Office Depot. They work just fine as long as you let the baits set up a bit. With baits that don't have sprue, they go in a pan and set on 2 pegs. If I have to trim other baits I use smaller scissors that can be purchased at any linen shop for a couple of bucks.
