  1. This was made from one of the resin molds
  2. If I am understanding this correctly, they are sticky to the touch and not "sticky" as in too soft. If this is the case, then I don't see any problem at all. I believe I read somewhere to put a drop of worm oil on the tail cutter and this will make cutting the tails quite a bit easier.
  3. I dug up the bait I have. The back is Green Pumpkin. The belly looks like Flourescent Green with something else to take the edge off. Maybe what Gunnie said....a little white?
  4. I have that bait in the garage somewhere. I'll take a look later when I get in there. I believe it is flourescent green or maybe emerald mixed with some watermelon.
  5. I've tried a sample of the glass microspheres M-F sent me. I went as high as double the suggested dose and it still really wouldn't float a frog with a 5/0 hook. It's very difficult to work with as the material is almost lighter than air. You pretty much have to hold your breath or you will blow them away! I found it too much hassle to bother with it anymore. For a jig trailer, regular plastic without flake or salt should make it want to stand up.
  6. When I put some in before I pour, I'm guessing it would be about one drop per ounce. You really should not be getting a strong plastic smell with or without scent. Maybe your overheating (scorching) your plastic. I personally feel that you are benefiting more by "marinating" your baits while they are setting up.
  7. I usually pour some scent in right before I pour also. When I demold and lay the baits out I squirt the majority of the scent on. The next day I just mix the baits around a bit and bag.

  10. I suggest you spend some of the money on the plastisol. It will literally save you plenty of headaches. I remelted store bought stuff when I first started pouring and it almost turned me off to the whole thing until I bought my plastisol. It smokes, it stinks, etc.
  11. When I first started I used to do just that with the same baits. I would add a little green highlight powder and call it Nuclear Waste. I would make a big enough batch in a Presto pot so the baits would be uniform in color. I sent those out to clubs around the country to try out my baits. I had some good success with that. Thanks for the reminder!
  12. One possibility is to take the order and a small cash deposit. Have plenty of order forms ready. Then send a paypal invoice for the balance. It is not necessary to have a Paypal account to pay by credit card anymore. It is very user friendly now. Even though I have a Merchant account, I just switched two web businesses over to strictly Paypal and so far I'm happy with it. They take their cut immediately so there are not any surprises at the end of the billing cycle.
  13. maybe a coffee grinder? Cheese grater?
  14. You might want to let the worms sit overnight to set up. Then, decide if they are too soft or not. Remember, you can always re-melt them.
  15. I get labels for my bags as well as postage shipping labels from Online Labels - Labels for laser and inkjet printers! Compatible with all popular software program for printing labels! They also have an e-bay store which sometimes you can get better prices from.
  16. If it is the seal that is causing dents, then why don't we see dents in molds other than worms. I only get an occasional dent in one cavity of one mold. This is with the 10 1/2" trick. I also do not pour with any salt whatsoever.
  17. Maybe a spring clamp near the area that dents???
  18. Now, that makes some sense Jim! Thanks. What exactly is parafilm?
  19. Just melt a piece of worm onto the end. Then widen the hole after it sets up.
  20. Great idea with the divider and the clamps! It sure beats running a bead of silicone around the outside. Thanks for the tip and pics!
  21. That's closer to insanity than pushing the envelope:eek:
  22. I use M-F hardener. It is just a little thicker consistency than the regular and mixes very easily.
  23. Does anybody know what brand hooks are used for the Lucky Craft Pointers and Sammy's? Thanks
  24. It's the thread below this one. http://www.tackleunderground.com/forum/soft-plastics/15467-quick-easy-mold-box.html
