What kind of hook are you using? I find that the pictured hook to be the best for frogs. I don't have Del's frog but MF regular should work just fine. I have used "regular" for a long time but have recently added hardener for a couple of reasons. One being you will get more "kick" from the feet and you can package them quicker and will not flatten out in the bags so quickly. Adding hardener does thicken the plastic and you do need to heat it up more to thin it out for pouring. It also cools faster so you have to re-heat a little more often. I don't know how well this will work with your mold but it works well for me. If you are not using this type of hook, then this might just solve your problem.

I was under the impression that when you have a pat.pending stamped on a package you are suppose to supply the number along with it. I'll have to check that out.

I wonder if they are tubes. I'm assuming they aren't and just pour into a mold. I see they also have the Javalon/LFT Magic Shad as well which is definitely poured into a single sided mold. I've been pouring the Javalon for a while and did quite well with them this summer working them through the pads. The Magic Shad says patent pending on the package but does not show any number. Does anybody have more info on this?

Wouldn't you need to send enough baits so everybody gets some from each? 10 participants send 100 baits then everybody get ten different 10 packs.

Hi Mike, Let me see if I understand how this works. All participants send their baits to a central location. For example, if there are 10 participants sending 100 baits each, then each one of us will receive a repackaged variety pack of 10 baits from from 10 different pourers? If that is right, I like that and would also volunteer to make them up and resend them.

Either post a pic of the mold or e-mail it to me. Some of the earlier ones were not vented enough. I could probably pour mine in a bucket of ice cubes and they would fill completely.

I put some Anise in with my white. I won't discolor. Probably best to just microwave it.

Thanks. I built a pot with directions that were posted here. I really like the way you set it up for stirring. I think I'll order that. I really haven't used it yet. As far as white goes, I find if I double up on the amount color I use, it tends to take longer to discolor.

Saint, Nice job! What size spout are you using and do you find that you need to preheat up your molds before you pour? What temp setting on the Presto Pot are you using and are you finding certain colors tend to scorch before the plastic runs out? Thanks, Richard

Great explanation. It can get confusing. I've found that if I have a question, a phone call to M-F. Del, or Lurecraft is usually all it takes. They've all been very helpful.

You can make a one piece mold for the Magic Shad. A buddy of mine spent $300 on some and we tore them all up in a day and a half. We saved 4 and made a one piece mold. I find it actually makes for a better bait. When the plastic contracts it makes up for the hookslot you lose when glueing the bottom down on a flat surface. M-F regular plastic works well and it you want it a tad tougher just add some highlight powder.

M-F......quick ship, consistent from batch to batch, doesn't settle and you can get ($3.20)a screw in spigot for easy dispensing.

It is pretty interesting stuff. I like the ball park analogy. We've come along way since counting, one Mississippi, two Mississippi........ I live in South Florida so I still stick my rod tip over to find out how deep it is and feel for a hard bottom!
