  1. I need a little help finding some discontinued plugs. I'm looking for the Yozuri Arms Crank and Dive Magnums. Locally I can't find any and I lose every war on Ebay. Does anyone have some new or used ones that they are willing to part with? I am looking for the large 3" magnums only. It doesn't matter what color as long as it's not the Max Action models. Thanks for the help. Cranky
  2. Doesn't matter what type or brand of crank you throw. It's gonna happen from time to time. I'm known by everyone as a cranker. Try a sidearm cast close range or for distance. Remember your little league days. A line drive is always better than that beautiful rainbow!
  3. Generally I stay away from all but mono. I will tell you of some of the better superlines IMO. If you can find it for sensitivity and pure strength: Spiderwire Fusion. It is no longer made but the things you can feel and the hangups you can cut through are unreal. A second underated and very good superline is Berkley Iron Silk. Both are flat fused lines so you don't have to worry about those braid nightmares. I will say however that both are brutal on cheap line guides.
  4. Regular old masking tape on the eyes will protect them from paint. Just cut around them with an exacto knife. Remove the tape before you topcoat. It's been working for me for the last two years.
  5. I'd love to have a few. If I'm not too late, I'll send tomorrow. I would like 4 if you could. If not I understand. Thanks Cranky

That's one great looking paint job. Welcome to the underground Skeeter!
  7. For the record: Greentreuse is also a great undershot on cranks!
  8. Spookman I've been using the Minwax for almost two years now and have had no problems with yellowing. I do however understand where they are coming from. If you do not get a good seal on the can after each use the urethane will thickin. You're talking about one thick mirror wet finish, but it will yellow. If the urethane thickins discard and get a fresh can.
  9. Side grinder! Trust me, If I want it off bad enough...

    Foil Walleye

Beautiful work! Just knock off the lip and throw it in the pan!
  11. Guys these are great ideas. They are however a little more complicated than what I do. Try using the 99 cent body sponges from Walmart. You can cut out whatever size you need and the thing is always intact and ready to be cut the next time. Plus the netting they use to make them has a great scale pattern.
  12. Another way that I have found is to lightly squeeze on a rattle camn until the paint builds on the head. Then pass it over the crank with the same trigger pressure. The cool thing is that once the head of the spray can dries with all the buildup on it, it splatters from that point on.
  13. I also use the Paasche VL. I don't have problems with overspray unless I was to try and do the shad dots. That's what a drill bit is for. Might I ask if you are using the smallest needle? All the others that come with the package are useless in my opinion.
  14. I'm glad someone else is catching fish with these things. Mine are just stinky paper weights.
  15. Thanks all, I ended up using a Loctite 2 part marine epoxy. I don't think I could knock it off with a hammer!
  16. Personally I prefer the original DT. I don't care for the sure set hooks. I mainly fish the 10 and 16 foot models.
  17. Kozak, Some guys on here are just mixing the epoxy up on the bottom of an aeresol can. Use a piece of straight wire to mix it and it will help control some of the air bubbles. I dip my topcoats. But I'm not about to get that big argument started again. Check the posts on lure spinners, you're gonna need one to dry and level that epoxy topcoat.

Great looking bait! Somebody please tell me how to make the side bars on the body. I still haven't figured it out!
  19. Just another twist on the perfect shad dot: I use the back end of an 1/8 or 3/16 drill bit depending on the lure size.
  20. Thanks! I'm gonna take a look at that bracket first.
  21. It is digital but I am an idiot with a camera! I'll try your advice and check my manual about the macros. Thanks

    More Custom Paint

Thanks Richard. Two are Rapala DT's on top is a Bass Pro XPS and to the right is a Lee Sisson.
  23. I need some suggestions from everyone please. I just bought a second depth finder for the console of my boat. I have one already mounted to the trolling motor. Here's the problem: My wife is my partner and says that if I drill the boat, she won't fish in it. I have an aluminum Sea Ark. Basically a Tracker with different decals. Can someone suggest how to mount the transducer without drilling?
  24. If you're traveling to North Carolina, don't forget Cotton Candy and Pumpkin-Candy!
