  1. Excellent tutorial but I believe you failed (or I failed to see it) to mentioned that the master needs to be sealed before glueing down and pouring the mold material. Lou
  2. I have my mold done but had a problem trying to find something for the final dip since my swim bait is 4" long. At first I thought one of the 16oz beer cans (1 of many) might work but after cutting it thought it was too thin and did not want to get plastic all over my hand (again!). came in the house this morning and saw a can of aparagus in the kitchen cabinet, measured it, opened it, and just what I need. Best of all I got my container to dip in and wife going to cook steak tonight since that's the only thing she cooks with aparagus. Lou
  3. Delw, Thanks for all the info you have provided since I've been a member. You seem to always be there to help and offer suggestions to others and that's greatly appreciated. Famowood (again I'm not sure if that is the correct name of it since I'm at work and can't check the box) is what is used for the tops of bars and provides a finish to the wood that is almost glass like. What the heck, I'll try it and if it doesn't work all I've lost is a yardstick and popsicle stick. Will let you know what the results are. Lou
  4. Looks nice but I was sitting in my huge camping trailor, bait pouring station (12 ft long including the hitch, hahaha) and saw some pieces of popsicle sticks laying around and got to thinking. Has anyone tried or thought of using wood to make their molds? I tried the knife trick but for me the hollow part was a bit too thin so I had an old yard stick that I carved down for the body and used a popsicle stick to come up with the tail paddle. Painted it all with Famowood (I think that is the correct name) tonight and will probably apply and additional coat tommorrow to see how it comes out before trying to dip my first test. Will you'all know what the outcome is. Lou
  5. WRM-N, I'm surprised it took you 17 years. Heck, I managed to do it in the first 2 weeks. Hope everything heals up ok. Lou
  6. Does anyone have a recipe for Culprit's crawdad with green clitter wroms? To me it looks like black with green for the top and maybe copper with green glitter for the bottom but I'm not sure. Also, if you think it's copper for the bottom, can you tell where to find the copper dye? I checked Del_mart, Netcraft, Lurecraft, and MF Manufacturing but did not see on either of them. Thanks in advance for any help. Lou
  7. I've checked Landbigfish and believe this is or close to the bait you're looking for. http://www.landbigfish.com/tacklestore/showcase.cfm?PID=4138 Lou
