  1. LOL, Ya that is right, I did try the createx top coat and it still did it. I did heat set one of them but maybe not enough ? Just for the record I do not heat set createx and very very rarely have this problem, it is with the auto air that is every bait out of 4 that did this. I have done 10 yesterday and today with D2T and then one coat of DN with no problems so far but I know it is just a matter of time when I start cussing again.
  2. Hey Dean, I do not heat set my createx and very rarely run into this problem. Talking createx and auto air might be getting confused ? The auto air is what I am having trouble with.
  3. Seeing I finally tried D2T I really like the clairty and thickness it makes the top coat look versus DN but I want the strength of DN so I used the D2T for first coat and a second coat of DN, Will one coat of DN be enough or does it need 2 coats of DN ? I know you can get away with one coat of DN but I want to offer and use a dependable top coat that will not scratch.
  4. Clam, no I do not heat set, I never had too before. have I tried the heat set, yes, recently, no. Seeing I finally tried the D2T I really like what it does to the lure so I probably will not quit using it, I am coating over the D2T with DN now for my second coat, Does anyone think I should put another coat of DN on it as well or will 1 coat of each be enough to make it very durable ?
  5. Thanks Bob and Dean, Yes I know what went rong with DN in the jars/can, my own fault. But I have painted over 100 lures and once in awhile I get the crack paint when brushing DN, I just tried Auto air pearl white because it was sent to me as the wrong item, I really like the auto air compared to createx but now I have the paint eating problem. No problem with 2T with it. Only auto air pearl white is being eaten, I have other colors of auto air that is does not affect. I even let it sit for a few day's and it still did it. I cleared the bait with createx clear and it still did it.
  6. Hey Guy's not to change gears here but lately I have been having trouble with DN eating my paint, I switched to some auto air colors and one of them was pearl white and now when I DN, the paint spider cracks, very frustrating, I also get this on a foil bait that I paint over. I know the paint is dry. I even clear coated with createx after having this problem more then once and it still did it. I had some 2T around that I never tried and so I used that and no problem, I also can tell a big difference in the clear coat as it looks thicker/smoother/more crisp. I see most think DN is a tuffer top coat, so should I coat with DN over top of the 2T ? I like the DN for it ease of use but I have had so much trouble with the stuff from drying in my can, drying in my smaller bottle, running on my bill, EATING MY PAINT. Very frustrating when this stuff happens. Anybody know anything about the Diamond Gel coat ? Thanks, Jim.
  7. For me I Mix the glitter with my top coat then brush it on. a second coat of Just clear will be needed or you will feel the glitter bumps
  8. I use sintra for my cage business, I use the 10 mil. I throw scrap pieces away everyday, I am more than willing to send you some for shipping price only. Fat fingers, I would like to see what you have made out of the stuff. As far as gluing pieces together you use weld-on just for this type of material ( I would have to look at what # the weld-on is, I think 1007 ?
  9. let us know how it worked and how well it holds up to scratching.
  10. Cool, thanks for taking the time to write in detail. How did you make or were did you get the splatter tip ? And what kind of touch up gun is it ?
  11. Nice BB, how do you keep all those lures so you know what is what. I see you have bottom feed and gravity feed spray guns, which do you prefer ?
  12. I have the Iwata eclispe CS.35 Revolution CR .50 Badger 360 Out of those 3 I use the CS the least. $125 you can have it, comes with new needle and tip in it and a extra needle and tip for a spare, used for about 4 weeks. The 360 works great but takes longer to clean, the CR works just as good and cleans faster.
  13. DSV, you will need to make one, lots of info to make one. I have extra devcon 2ton to sell or trade.
  14. I brushed the DN today, worked much better and alot easier then I thought it would be. Thanks for the tip.
  15. Thanks guy's Seeing I already ordered the devcon, LOL I will give it a shot. What do you use to pour your DN into for brushing, have you found throw away's or do you use the bottom of a can , if so do you use the same can until build up is to much ? to hold the DN I guess one Min. is less time then clean up of a bill. Thanks again for your help
  16. Hey Guy's. I have trouble with DN running under my tape on the bil even when I swore the tape was tight so I want to try 2 ton. I did some searching but so many posts I do not have all day so sorry. How do you use it / mix it / mix it in what / Do you need to turn the lure like DN Thanks.
  17. DO NOT USE rustoleum plastic covering paints with dicknite. I found out the hard way and lost a few killer paint jobs. Dicknite ate the paint like running water worked better then paint remover.
  18. Double check the Krylon and DO NOT USE rustoleum, That is what I used and Dicknite was like paint remover, dang it I had 11 lures in white with 2 killer paint jobs that I lost.
  19. Paint your bait white first then clear coat it, This way your white is always there. I used krylon rattle can of white for plastic yesterday for my base coat for the first time and I will NEVER spray a bait with createx white again. What a difference, quick, easy, did I say quick.
  20. I did not get mine as well, I ordered the same day this was posted and what I ordered did not say they had to make them.
  21. I have the Eclips Hp CS .35 and the revolution CR .5 I like the CR I do not even use the CS anymore I like that the needle is more protected on the cs but it does not clean out as fast as the cr and the cr sprays a smaller pattern spray I have some bager garage sales coming someday to try.
  22. Markc, I have the same trouble, I found it worked better with med to high air , something to rest your hand on to keep it steady and very very slowly pull on the trigger until the paint starts to come out, I still have trouble but with practic I hope someday it will go faster.
