electric mixer is to fast you will need to build something that uses a rpm speed about between 80 and 100 rpm with a DC motor and speed control, I think this is the best way. Some guy's use a drill press at the lowest speed but it will take a special size paddle bit that will match to lower speeds, if you do a search in the soft plastics for drill press or mixing you probably will find a bunch of way's

My name is Jim, I live in Grand Haven MI. I will be 45 this month, I have a wife and 2 young girls and a 18 yr old step daughter that just made me a grandpa. I am self employed as a drywall hanger for 12 years and a reptile cage builder for 4 years, I have been a soft plastics guy for 1.5 and want to learn painting of crankbaits now. I am in my 4th year fishing for bass, I always over do anything I get into and bass fishing has been my most $ venture yet. Thanks for all the reply's to posts even if they have been answered 100 times.

What do you guy's like for holding the cranks when painting ? does a vise for fly tieing work well ? -
Should you sand lures after you base coat white ? and do you sand anytime before or after ? I plan on just repainting new pre made lures. Thanks.

Thanks BJ. Now should I get opaque, Transparent,matalics, pearls ? LOL, probably most. Pearls I see. any special colors you would like to run off ? What about base coat, is that just a flat white then ? Does this type of paint need to be thinned ? -

Hi guy's I have been following the threads for a bit and I have done some searches. I just get more confused and stressed with all the different way's everyone does stuff. I was thinking of trying to paint some hard baits and spending $400 to $500 I want to get the right thing the first time. so far I am considering the Iwata hp-cs and a compressor. what paints should I get ? do I need to purchase cleaning supplies ? if so what works best. I want high quality paint and clear coat what else should I purchase ? Thanks, I know I will have more.

Ya they are nice looking baits but the tail looks thin, the paint probably falls off when it hits the water., It probably swims upside down. I sure hope he did not figure out how to make them off this site with everyones help.

I had a tourney 2 weeks ago, We had a away tourney for our club and had a non boater with me, I was catching the smallies on tubes and he asked me if he could have one, so I let him have one and he caught a 7.04 smallie Dang nab it if he did not beat me for first, we did take 1, 2 on a 2 day tournament.

Here is my latest catch on the dt's, the samon were running in the chanel I was smallie fishing, these are 14lbs each and the pros out there were only catching 10lbs'rs

Yes it does keep a steadier stream, and it is one they use on LC pots.

Is your plastic hot enough as well ? Does the mold show all the venting like the pictures on Bobs website ? Calhoun plastic is really good stuff but I found it a bit trickier to pour 2 piece molds.

Hi, I got it second hand, I cannot seem to find were to get them I did do some searching. ( If anyone finds them please let me know ) It would work for the presto, size I think is 1/8 ?

Thanks guy's sorry I did not see posts on this lately. I did end up making some with my poison tail and put one of my poured speed craws on it as a tail and went out and caught some smallies in the channel of my favorite spots. Pop, any green pumpkin skirts you want to let go of ? predatorbassbaits@charter.net

What ever you do make sure you find out what happens if it is not what you ordered and if it does not pour right or inject right.

Hi guy's, What is the diff. with spider jigs and flipping jigs ? I see allot out there but what qualities should I look for in getting a couple. ? We have a guy up here that is beating the crap out of everyone in 2 different tournaments, and rummer has it he is using these jigs and just flipping or pitching in 6 to 12 foot of water. Thanks.

http://www.proheatinc.com/ http://www.nphheaters.com/products/ceramic.htm here is a couple links, you will need to design it yourself, 1500 to 2500 watts, get the heat band, shroud, and insultion. If you go with NP they were the best price. Ask for James, remind him of mine and that will get you in the right direction, you will need to figure out what type of plug end you will need, it also needs a 25 amp relay Also get the shroud 1/4" wider then the heat band, they made mine the same size. Also ceramic is more money but I guess a better product.
