  1. Well put Jim, I told shawn that this grub mold would be a good addition and I was going to post the pic of the bait here, but I did not because of the problems. It is a great bait, it is a copy of the calins grub with one thing different. Once bugs were worked out it is a great mold and we have caught allot of fish off that grub this spring. Once he got the body size right then the problem with the mold was the tail, I told shawn the thickness I wanted, I think it was a tad thin, so I was more then willing to pay to have it fixed, I even offered $ to have it fixed. Then it did not change so I thought maybe venting was the problem, I put a vent mark in it and it worked better so I sent them back again. and so on and so on.
  2. I hope you were not refering to me as the soap opera, I gave Shawn pleny of room to make these work, I sent samples, The guy could not read e-mails very well. I asked for a single tail and a twin tail injection mold, he kept getting the 2 confused with sizes so I had to send him the bait, I finally got sick of the confusion that I canceled the twin tail. He made his 6.5 trick worm, I bought one. I then wanted a 4" worm like Bob's slither, I sent him a bait, he I guess got my e-mails confused again and made me a 4" trick worm. The grub molds he made me took to much air pressure to inject. I did buy some molds from bass8baits of shawns speed craw and those work GREAT. I was not going to say anything to anyone until shawn decided to not respond back. ( That broke the camels back )
  3. I would stay away from Shawn, I worked with him and spent about $1000 in molds, everyone had trouble and I had to send them back and pay shipping both ways, I bought 3 grub molds that I sent back about 3 or 4 times, then I wanted a 4" drop shot mold and sent him a bait, he ended up making me something different, I did not want my name on this mold as well but I got it, It cost me about $185 for that mold and I did not like it and I asked him to change it and he wanted another $120 + shipping both ways. I reminded him that he made this mold of something different then what I ordered and now he will not even e-mail me back. Another person on this forum told me he purchased a 4 pour injection mold and only got a 3 pour and shawn would not make it right with him as well.
  4. I bought that powder gun as well, the only thing it is good for for me is spraying glitter.
  5. I use this. http://www.plaster.com/Ultracal.html After I make my first mold I pour this in the mold and it makes a master that you can make more molds from..
  6. Right 96 RPM, ( This is the RPM motor that is on Lure Crafts pressure pot) I have a paddle that goes across the bottom of the pot, Bassnfool is using a much smaller paddle but I tried that route like he is doing and I got major bubbles but I used a 1 1/4" wood boring bit with the tip ground off. here is a link so you can see specs of the motor I put on my pressure pot, it is 139RPM and is controlled with a speed control, 139 RPM is too fast. But this link will give you something to work from. http://www.bodine-electric.com/Asp/ProductModel.asp?Context=13&Name=24A-Z%20Series%20Parallel%20Shaft%20DC%20Gearmotor&Model=0159&Sort=11207
  7. Try and find a DC motor around 96rpm and a speed control, with speed control you can get a higher RPM motor, I do not know how low of a RPM motor you can go tto, I tried a 56RPM and it was too slow, Make a mount and stir paddle and coupling and you can possibly do this for under $100 depnding on the cost off E-bay.
  8. Hey Del, I am not complaining to complain ( I am not stretching the truth.) ( I also have nothing against you.) I am just telling my experience, I did tell you about it and you wanted pictures, well that is when Bob got his out so I just bought his, I was using your plastic as well, maybe it was just the plastic but I did not have trouble with bobs except for the short sprue hole but that is the size everyone is making so it will be nice to see someone make a longer sprue hole so it saves time on pouring by back tracking. It was the ribbit style. I used your plastic in Bobs mold when I got them and I would get perfect pours and yours I am serious 1 out of 20, I would always come in the house complaining to my wife about it. It would never pour a complete foot, both feet would only pour about 1/2 way. Could it have been the plastic was not hot enough ? maybe, I have lots of trouble pouring even with salt especially.( I pour the frogs without salt ) I do not have this problem with bobs frogs.
  9. Looks nice, you should make them with longer sprue holes as the others do not.
  10. Ya if you have the extra time to wait ask bob to make you the mold with a longer sprue hole, I have the same problem. I hate having to babysit molds and back tracking.
  11. These are better then the ribbits, If pouring your own and buying the molds my experience was bobs are easy to pour and I had tons of trouble with dels, I sold all of dels becasue I was tired of getting one bait out of 20 pours.
  12. I have that mold what are you looking for in color ? please contact me predatorbassbaits@charter.net
  13. Saint, it does great for the price. real thin pours can be tricky but can be done, I used a 52 rpm motor and it was to slow. anything over 96 rpm is to fast. I have a 83rpm motor but I have not tried it yet.
  14. Saint, do not go with the frydaddy but go with the presto pot, you can heat from start with it, it has temp controll up to 400deg. If you want to speed it up you can mic. the plastic and then dump it in.
  15. I have used both and the bigger one worked alot better, if I was to buy another I would not buy the smaller one.
  16. If you do a search on the pot you will see my pictures of a stand. You can get a thin stream, depending on what plastic and thickness it is will depend on how hot it needs to be to pour a thin stream.
  17. Very excellent machine I do not use the presto anymore. e-mail me if interested in one. predatorbassbaits@charter.net
  18. Bob and Del's molds are the same.
  19. Make sure when you find a mold to have the measurments double checked, dels 3K and 5 K single tail the 5 K is like a 3 1/2" His twintail mold is the one your probably looking for, also have him make the pour runners on it longer, I had that mold but sold it. Shawn will make you the mold if you send him a bait .
  20. I am not putting senkosam's down it was probably my wrong doing. Alsworm, Did senkosam switch glitters ? I bought almost 2 years ago and everyone bled on me, I really like the chartreuse with the bleed you do not need to ad any color. when I first started I was getting the plastic too hot so maybe that was my problem. I have been using ozark since.
  21. I missed that $28 stirrer my Bad, what are you using that cost $28 ?
  22. Ya I knew better ( the wife helps ) But doing them that fast who is stiring the salt ?
