I just purchased this week as well, I took and used masking tape and put it over the wire /hook slot, My first ones would pour good but the hook or wire would move and it would touch the side of the mold and cause a lead bare spot were you could see the hook/wire. I too am unable to powder paint, I am going to air brush, Any recomendations for a air brush ?

I bought 2, one was broke I glued it, I tried to use them but the tip cooled and nothing ever came out. I wasted $20, If anyone likes them and uses them I have 2 to sell/trade.

With the 5" stick mold , Bob got his design from del, I have both bob's and del's and I see no difference. If your in a hurry to get one you probably should go with bob, he gets them out quicker. Del makes nice stuff as well, but the wait time can sometimes be long.

Play with caution, his feed back is not good. I was ripped off twice from 2 different people on aluminum molds this last month. I have been awarded judgement with paypal but I will not get my money back until they put money back in there paypal accounts.

Travis, are you making your own molds then ? aluminum ? Ominousone, he cut a groove from the end of flappers to the outside edge of the mold, I think it so when you pour, the air can be pushed out to fill the flappers.

Senko sam says it can replace salt for the weight but I weighed it and it is 3 times lighter then salt, I may have mis read his website. Plus I have a bunch but no one wants to tell any secret recipies

who's glitter is it, I have some from one retailer that is almost worthless.

168 5" worms from a 2 piece mold out of 6 cups of liquid, Thats 28 worms per cup. 112 per quart 448 per Gallon 2240 Per 5 Gallons Knock off about 4 sticks per cup if you do not use alot of salt. http://www.coolcrittersbylj.com/id142.htm

I think that 5" worms from dels molds will give you about 27 to 29 worms per cup I just poured in my crock pot. 5 cups super soft plastic 3/4 cup softner 1/4 cup scent 1 cup salt, And got 144 sticks now I have 1 cup full of cold sprue ( pour end ) to melt back down, I will see about melting the rest down and get a total.

His 2 piece craw molds are excellent as well.

I have one of LC also, it is a block of alum with like 11 or 13 razor blades with spacers between them, I am sure you could make one yourself. I will get you a picture of it later.

Senko sam gives great deals on glitter as well. Being a newbee myself I had to learn how to use them, I am finding quickly that if you use more softner you can keep the heat lower and it pours easier. At first I was having trouble with senko sams glitter with it bleeding bad but I think I was heating the plastic to much, last few batches worked very nice. Dels glitter at least my batch sinks in my plastic even at temps of 280 with a candy thermometer, but I am finding that that works nice in my frogs because the glitter sinks to the bottom, being the top of the frog and it makes for a nice looking bait. I will get a picture of it soon.
