I was wondering if someone could give me a small how to on carving custom cranks... belly weights, hardware, cutting lips (lexan)? If someone could do that I would greatly appreciate it... looking to work with balsa

I want to start carving.....whats the best wood for this?? Bass?? Balsa??? Both??? How do you insert the lip??? Where do you get hook hangers and line tie, and you do you get them into the bait??? What kind of paint do I want to buy??? and last but not least do you have any suggestions??
