  1. That was one of my questions, so to answer that I bought a $3 card airbrush to find out, just never got around to trying it! From what I know, it can't until the thinner evaporates. I figured if I mixed enough to spray, then immediately flush with more thinner, lots more, I wouldn't have a problem.
  2. here's mine, if you have these colors handy, I probably got it off here anyway 5 drops Del rootbeer 3 drops LC purple 5 drops LC bright red little bit .15 green, littl(er!) bit .35 black
  3. Alumilite sells a kit that has everything you'd need to make a mold, then cast a bait. There are tons of other places, but this was the most complete kit I found when looking, they even include stir sticks and cups Be sure to get the larger kit, I went cheap and got the small kit, wasn't enough stuff to make a complete mold!
  4. I'm a dipper, tried the brush on, but wasn't satisfied, but your mileage may vary!
  5. I was gonna guess he was using a cheap drill press to stir, but I was wrong In addition to prep time, you now have your wife's time to consider too, while cutting and bagging. Then I forgot set up and take down time, if you don't already have an area set up just for pouring, then add in 'material time', or the time it takes to order, receive, and put away materials, etc. Lots and lots to add into the time factor, and it's all completely necessary, as is thick skin.
  6. Well what then? Me pointing out things he missed? One Sock asked, we're answering. It's the little things that get you, or get to you, apparently.
  7. About as necessary as your thread asking about pricing baits
  8. Apparently his $28 pot stirrer is handling that for him
  9. You forgot the time to draw the plastic, pour ingredients, mix them up, keep mixing them up, your wife's time, etc, etc. IMO, selling sticks is a losing battle, given the prices I see floating around. I've never bought anyone's hand poured sticks, but have some buddies bragging about the price of the baits they got off eBay that didn't even sink. On the other hand, there is a group of anglers that know what consttutes a good bait, and will pay the price, find those guys, screw the cheap bastards that want to pay bottom dollar, there will always be some moron out there to sell it to them for 'free', just to make a sale.
  10. That is the question most folks should be asking, especially with the sticks! I think it was you who mentioned that you were trying to sell some old sticks you bought on eBay back on eBay, and couldn't peddle them for $0.50/bag!!
  11. I still dont' understand....you're using super soft plastic, and adding salt, right? Super soft plastic, is just that, super soft, for action. It's not super durable, or super lasting, it's soft. Salt is for sinking, it doesn't toughen baits up, it makes them weaker, adding something else to the makeup of the plastic bait. It would have to be a ridgid object through the entire bait to shore it up. If the baits don't last long enough, use a harder plastic, or, like a bunch of us, in the case of worms...catch a fish on a 6" worm, bite it...catch a fish on a 5" worm, bite it...catch a fish on a 4" worm, bite that, and so on
  12. Thanks Scoop, I must admit, I googled the term right after I posted that, then felt stupid for asking! Knocking out that signature clear step would be awesome, gonna give it a try, thanks! Yeah, I think Bob's mentioned that to me a time or two, musta completely blown right by me
  13. I don't understand, you're buying super soft plastic, and it's too soft, isn't that the point, to offer a more realistic, action filled bait, as opposed to the mass-produced, 'good enough' retail bait?
  14. Yes, that's why we're here! There are/were tutorials for making your own molds, that particular bait has been done by a member here already, so it's definately doable
  15. www.shawncollinscustoms.com www.bobstackleshack.com They'll make you one, email or call for a quote
  16. There's no shortcut, or there would be no aluminum molds!
  17. Hi Scoop, can you elaborate on these Microns? I'm using Lurecoat as well, and need to add a layer of protectant for my sharpie!
  18. I figured more detail would be what was said, and I don't see how that can be, unless they are changing the data from silted in creek channels, etc. These maps are what I figure are different, with perhaps a few that are not for free, but I could be wrong!
  19. Dick Nite, Devcon self-levels, right away from sharp edges.
  20. www.papilio.com I've found places that'll print them for you, but can't seem to find them anymore!
  21. I've got the elite, what's the difference between the two, more maps? If so, are the maps any different than the maps they give away for free?
