  1. I'm pretty sure there are some Dremel bits that are this shape, they'll be small, though
  2. I've heard that the sandblaster type guns work for this application, but I have never tried it. Luremaking.com (I think) sells that brush, they had a kit deal around Christmas, may or may not be around now, I dunno. I would like to know what an eye dotting machine is, sounds like overkill! I would like to know how much volume to powder brush actually uses, or if I bought a 2oz. jar, how long can I expect to use it if I don't have an elaborate recollection system? I've held some baits that have been powder airbrushed, these particular baits were kind of messy, with uneven parts in the finish, sounds like George has it down pat, though.
  3. Jerry, I was talking about the posts in this thread, I was going to append, but I only have three options, quote, multi quote and quick reply at the bottom right. At the bottom left there is an online icon and a report post icon, I don't see anywhere to edit!
  4. The first few molds I got, I took the advice from the folks here and smoked them, the last few, I didn't bother, and I can't tell a difference (I do preheat them a little more now), is the talc a replacement for that?
  5. You can do like I did, get the heads from someone in this thread, they'll treat you right, spend your money on paint, and save for the mold later!
  6. Seems Jerry has spoken By the way - how do you edit a post?
  7. I read part of the other thread, and I think it was deleted, this is my opinion only, but I think it might have had something to do with the relevance of the thread, not you posting the bait, but the other discussion, concerning your slogan. I personally am not offended by much of anything, unless it's directed at my children, who are defensless, but that's just me, but like I said, that's just my thoughts on the thread being deleted. Why don't you try to post the bait again, with your site not having the 'offending' slogan anymore, it shouldn't be an issue, and maybe we can discuss the bait, as I'd like to know what sort of mold, see a better picture, and know was that a dressed treble on a soft platic bait?
  8. After ruining about 50 baits, lemme just stress the need for a thermometer again, in case you're like me, and hard headed! I think I'm also going to switch to the heat gun method, after seeing some of the baits done by guys in this thread, i've been doing it the hard way!
  9. Anyone have a .pdf to html converter? I'll host the .html, but I can't take a 6.5MB x (TU members too cheap to buy a magazine, like me) hit
  10. That's pretty much what I do, except I use a plumbers torch and propane to heat the jigs.
  11. Bob/Dean! The trap that I dipped in the DN and had a few markings, well, I dipped it again today, and those are gone! Maybe I just need two or more coats
  12. I like to trade baits, especially with members here, I feel like I get some of the best baits going, from some of the best people around... I recently traded with a fellow not too long ago, jigs for jigs, he had a mold, which I was curious about, and I had the Poison Tail, which he was interested in, so I fixed him up two jigs, and about a dozen lead heads for him to finish. In return, I got a few done heads, and a handfull of baits for me to finish, all was well. I was looking around the web, and saw the exact two baits I had sent this guy being re-gifted to another person, in the context that he made them. Not knowing what to do, and giving them the benefit of the doubt...I didn't invent the jig or the paintjob, that's for sure, but these jigs were the same that I sent, I posted on the forum that these jigs looked familiar, nothing else! I get an email from the guy in about an hour, telling me that he's been experimenting with scale patterns (that's what I put on them, similar to the strike king jigs), and wanted more help. I saw this as back-pedaling, didn't respond, and haven't heard from him since. I just don't understand how another luremaker could do that, I sent those to him to use, not to pass off as his own! I would understand if I sent him some Crappie gear, and he didn't fish for them, or something like that, but not to pass it off as his own! Oh well, I really like to trade, but I suppose I'll have to be more careful in the future.

  19. Paasche has the Vjr, which I have, and badger has a low priced one as well, I just don't know which on it is, try Bear Air or Dixie Airbrush
  20. I think there was a post about someone using their Bob Ross paints as colorant, but i also don't think there was a follow-up story. The colorant is made specifically for coloring the worms, why not just use it? If it was not lost, there was a soft-plastic cookbook thread, read through it for the colors you want to make, and get the colors to mix from that.
  21. All the ads for the Vinyl paint mention that it can be sprayed, and I have some, just never tried it, it's pretty thick, supposedly only uses their own 'special' thinner, and I don't need a vinyl coated brush, so I've stayed away from it!
  22. The guy mentioned that the solvent 'shouldn't have done that', so we'll see, I'll pass any info along I get out of him.
  23. That's killer, I do wish a good number of folks here would at least add their online stores or what have you in their profile, so I'd know where to find them!
  24. Hey Jerry, For those of us that had to re-register, should we choose a different username, or add a suffix to it, so as to not confuse things if and when you get the last 6 months back? i.e. - Should I be dampeoples1?
