  1. 8" Maple musky lure. It is in a Largemouth bass pattern. Metal sides and glass eyes. 8.8 oz. Slow sinking. I had luremaking burn-out. I am coming out of it now and ready to climb back into the saddle again. I hope everyone is doing well and having a great Spring! I just can't get into the musky mode this year. I have been chasing the walleyes around like crazy! Tight lines everyone! Man there have been some incredible lures made lately by you guys! John

Tater that is FANTASTIC! Some big time recognition! What a nice article. All that hard work is paying off. Keep up the great work! I love spam! I just can't get a lip to stay in it! John
  4. Yes I have brushed the RTV on first to get a hard barrier around the plug to prevent the close to the surface air bubbles. It certainly helps I have found out. Yes you can create the the two piece mold to include the thru wire system / screw eye step. One small side note on the thru-wire pour. If you have a thinner area of the mold where the wire passes thru. You have to watch that it doesn't allow the reaction to happen and it never hardens. It actually sucks the heat out of the reaction of the two parts. You can let it stay in the mold for a longer period but it may slow you down. Good luck John
  5. Hey everyone, Happy holidays. Well I decided to try some saltwater patterns. The mullets caught my eye. This is a 7" resin bait with glass eyes. I used mother of pearl on the back of the glass eyes. I like the effect it gave. It sinks slow and weighs 2.75 OZ without the hooks. John

    6" Shad Jerkbait

Thanks guys for the kind words. I do take alot of pride in them just like everyone else that makes the lures. Mark I am still laughing about the "women can't make up their mind" comment on the trout bait! LOL Mark this one took about 4 hours to make over a months time! LOL Alot of steps in between things. Do a little and let it dry kinda thing! Stare at it for 4 hours thinking "what I should do next?" Stare at it some more........etc. John

    5" shad crankbait

Thanks for the kind words everyone. There are so many great luremakers here. I know I don't post a whole lot. I am still learning more and more with each lure. I have many that go down dead-ends! I have them all in a box to remind me what not to do! I just go through the gallery of all the luremakers and just can't believe the talent that is here. AMAZING! There are so many styles and techniques it is truely incredible. I love watching how individuals up their level of luremaking with each and every new one they make. I know I go a little overboard with the lures but I enjoy it and it helps me get away from the stresses of everyday life. Everyone have a safe and happy holiday season! John Snow

  23. Matt those are INCREDIBLE lures! You NAILED the color patterns also! Matt I am suprised that you can only get 20 or so lures from the RTV mold. Is the expansion of the microballons stressing the mold? Or are the fine details of the mold wearing out? Fantastic job! John
  24. Here is a link. I have tried alot of them. No problems. John Glues Epoxy
  25. Tater ............. holly cow!!!!!!! what a post! That Axe link is great! On repaints do you have to pay the excise tax? Is that only for the production on a new lure? It is amazing how much time we put into our baits. I know I only put my lures on ebay. If I was to charge for the time / hour calculation they would freak out! I just post them for a starting price for .99 cents and have been very very lucky have some people bid on them. I get batty if I do 20 lures in a row! I had to take a 2 month break!!!!!!!!! 1500 lures!!!!!!!!!!! John
