  2. The Game hook small packs or the Owner 4x Jungle Flippin' hook 3/0 Hope someone knows where to get them bulk.
  3. Expensive option. https://www.hagensfish.com/product/tools/hagens-industrial-hook-and-wire-bending-tool/hagens-industrial-hook-and-wire-bending-tool/
  4. Pure lead oxides at higher temperatures. Lower your temperature, scoop the blue off the top.
  5. Try baking with the pin removed. I never bake with the pin installed.
  6. Please send the rain to Lake Powell & Lake Mead Lake Powell is 175 feet below full pool! Lake Mead is 183 feet below full pool! The US Open belongs at Lake Mead, not Lake Mohave.
  7. What does 900 degree lead do to your hooks?
  8. It can, that is why I only do a quick blast.
  9. jigmeister - Hit the nail on the head! Even if you do have a strong fast flow, I would(I Do) hit my hook, metal pin and narrow part of the mold with a blast from my propane torch. 1-2 seconds. I live in Southern California and blast my molds/hooks on the first 5 or 6 pours and when I start getting bad pours. (even in the Summer) A Propane Torch also works great for melting the lead off hooks on bad pours. Hold your bad jigs by the hook with pliers over your pot and melt the lead off with the torch. Yes you can dip your bad jigs into the pot, but I think you get cleaner results with the torch. Good Luck
  10. I would not warm my mold with the teflon pins installed. The reason you pour blanks (no hooks) with the pin installed, is because a lot of lead will stream out of the pin opening on some molds. You might end up with a lot lead on your table and a incomplete pour. There is no set time on how long you keep your mold on top of your pot, also there no set number of how many blank pours you do. The goal is to warm(hot)the mold, and to get good complete pours. Some people warm their hooks in a tin, in a toaster oven. Too hard to place hooks in molds with gloves on for me, that is why I use a propane torch with cold hooks in the narrow parts of molds. Good Luck. I know you are a Delta Guy but lets hope Clear Lake(all California lakes) fills up with all this rain!
  11. Watch this guys video. He had the same problem you have. The solution is more heat. A good starting point for your pot is 7. Warm your mold, warm your hooks. If this guy heated his hook while it was in the mold, with a propane torch, his first pour would have been good. (cold larger hooks are enemy #1)
  12. #1 Are you getting a strong fast flow of lead? If you are not - clear spout with a piece of wire. #2 Preheat the mold. Set the mold on top of the pot for 5 minutes Pour 3 to 5 jigs without hooks (with teflon installed) to warm mold #3 Blast the lower part of the mold, with the hook laying in the mold, with a propane torch 1 to 2 second blast. The goal is to warm the hook & the narrow part of the mold Good Luck
  13. Nice! What paint did you have a problem with?
  14. Okay, I used Createx paints on the jigs in the photo. Try some heat before painting, good luck.
  15. What is created paint? Heat your jigs with a Blow Dryer before you airbrush the primer on. (white paint) Heat before additional colors. I live in Southern California, heating my jigs before airbrushing helps a lot. .
  16. A Elastic Band and a piece of Aluminium Tube.
  17. Just noticed the hook eye was not in place. Here is a new photo. Also heat the hook while it is in the mold with a torch before closing the mold. (Hook shaft Bait keeper area) https://www.amazon.com/RotoMetals-Casting-Retainer-Damming-Positioning/dp/B00EQ83H5W
  18. Your right, it is a pain to keep the hook aligned. I used some RotoMetals Casting Retainer Putty at the edge of the mold. (see photo)
  19. The expensive route to use is: Owner Twistlock Light Hook Or Owner Twistlock Open Gap Centering Pin Hook Remove the Centering - Pin. Use them on other hooks/Baits
  20. Yes wrapped with thread and epoxy. The ruff wrap helps keep the bait in place.
  21. No - Just a few taps on the outside (hook eye area) of the mold (both sides) while the hook is in place with a heavy Mallet. You do this, just to get a seal (closed all the way) on the mold.
