Just keep practicing. You will eventually get to the point where u can see how much plastic you have in the cup, see how hot it is by swishing it around, then make a precise judgment of how many seconds you can reheat it for!!
Well it is getting late in the fishing year for most anyways! If you want to sell a lot of molds I'd say to have a bunch stock piled up by January. People start getting tax returns that time of year and sales are good!!
Looking good! Have you ever tried LureCrafts Pearl Pink? It's basically pink with little blue hilts in it, it might be awesome for Trout colors...dunno though
Sweet looking color though.
Did u find some clam shell packaging for those?
Once again I've been playing around. This one is Black Grape/Blue Crawfish with brown hilts vein, and green pumpkin bottom.
If you hold this bait up to the light, the vein looks blue. But with light shining on the vein it looks brown.
I purchased this mold off someone on Ebay named Alsworms... This is brown watermelon with a strawberry vein and strawberry tail. Kind of a neat looking color. The mold is made of plaster and made very well at that.
I'll help Jim hijack it even more.... Jim, how long does it take in between pours on that mold?? Lots of thick plastic to let cool. Did you see Bass8baits swimbaits on ebay, from that exact same mold?? They are very nice looking too.
LureCraft does sell that exact mold, and it makes very nice baits. If you only want aluminum you might email bob and see if he has any drawn out. It should be a cheap mold too!
I was messing around with some clay again this week. I made three different baits, but this was the only one I cared for once all was said and done.
I might even put them into production!
