Finished this popper 2 days ago. It's a balsa wood popper, aluminum foiled, and painted in a different "açú" peacock bass pattern. The size is about 3 1/2". It took time to get finished but it's nice now. I made two of them. One for me and another for a friend.
Hope you like.

This one is a 3" balsa wood stick, with rattle, and airbrushed as a baby snook... I've got some problems with the paint around the eyes, but nothing big (I gess)... There's no aluminum foil, only metalic paint.
It's been a long time since my last post here. Notice that TU site layout is new, and nice!
4" long, balsa wood, with rattles, aluminum foiled, and airbrushed as Amazon (Açú) Peacock Bass pattern. Hope you like!
Suggestions and comments are wellcome!!!
Hi Douglas...
The rattles is added after. It's the same process used to make injected plastic baits, made in two halfs glued togheter. But the inside part is nos so beautiful because it's handmade, but at least is very simetric.
It has 4 large steel bals inside. Really noisy...
Hey Jacob!
This one I think I'll leave in this collor... Fish here loves this bone pattern... Next week I should make some different paints and show here!
Thanks a lot!
It's been a long time since I showed my last lure here... I have done no lures this year until now. (9 months of heavy study)
It's a walking action bait, 4" long, with 4 large rattle bals inside, and made with PU resin.
Hope you like.
Comments, suggestions, are welcome

Some fine details like you see on gills, and de side details I made manually with a round point needle. It takes some time to do, but i like the results.
Some details bigger like the gills, I carve it, because I get better effect this way.
Spoopa, these joints I think was really hard to make. It seems to bem dificult to make it perfect, specially in a flat lure like this one.
Pete, thanks!!! Maybe I can do it a little better
Jeep, after seein your swimbaits, I'm really thinking about making some finns on this one... probably with lexan. I found really dificult to find and use microfibets.
Thanks Fatfingers! The tail fin I made with lexan, and paint it!
Really really nice!!!
I have one model based on this same fish, but has about 6" long and floating.
I'll take some pics and show here...
Although the same inspiration, mine's got a little bit different.
Congratulations!!!
Smokey,
first I apply one piece of foil with the body pattern. Over it I put another foil with the head and gills, and the pectoral finn.
Some light details I make after these steps with a round point needle.
people around here like a lot this pattern for topwater lures... I've heard once that in US most use natural colors or dark ones for topwaters... Here many people love light patterns, with many fluorescent colors, white, "bone"...
When it comes to crankbaits I don't know much about them, but I'll remember you suggestion when I try to make some of them...
Thanks!!!
This one I made few weeks ago, but forgot to show it here in TU.
It's made with balsa wood, 4" long, has a nice metalic sound rattle, but I couldn't get out to fish with it yet...
...and maybe I'll only gonna fishing again next year!
Hope u like!
