Step one.. By a Big Mac Step 2. eat the big mac Step 3. you will feel sick.. Step 4. Drink your Coke and you might feel like painting now.. Step 5. Save your straw Step 6. Get your tongue WHAT?? VINCE!! ARE FREAKING CRAZY!! Step 7. Take some paint and skoal.. put it in your mouth.. and spit through the straw. Step 8. Make sure you blend your paint good in your mouth.. if your really lucky you will have some gaps in your teeth so you can get some extra pressure with your tongue and cheeks.. if you move your mouth just right you can regu ma late it!!! by moving your jaw side to side.. Step 9.. Now the tricky part... THE CLEAR COAT!!! :popcorn:Hmmm should I use epoxy or Dick Nites... Some reason I never feel to good after I paint a few baits..I never know if it was the BIG Mac or the Coke!!! But if this keep up Im filing a lawsuit against McDonalds.. Their is no warning saying not to use their products to paint. The Rookie

Plastic baits 1. Scuff the bait and just take the shine off.. dont remove all the paint.. use 400 grit sand paper and wash off the dust before you prime and paint. 2. you could fill the holes and blemishes with bondo glazing putty if you like.. Wooden baits. you could sand it all off and recoat the bait with epoxy to seal the wood back up.. then scuff the epoxy up and prime or you could just scuff it up and use the same bondo glazing putty trick. I have tried both methods and they work. You can buy the bondo glazing putty at most Automotive supply stores. Good luck The Rookie

Tman2 and Dunaway... Tman2 thanks for the compliment. Dunaway.. Tman is cool.. he wasnt making fun of my rookie ability... Now to help you out... painting is a style.. if you asked me how I draw my name I could show you how I hold my pencil and the angle I use to write it.. but I might use more pressure than you and make darker lines.. etc.. etc. in the end your writing will look different than mine. Dean helped me the most without helping at all when I first started.. he said just do it and learn as you go.. making mistakes only helps you in the end... that is really the best way to lure how to paint. Just like video games.. when you first try it your not that good at it.. but if you keep at it and never quit it gets easier and easier.. really anything in life is like that....Most of the guys that paint really good or have another skill worked really hard to develop it.. So my best advice is.. just pick up a crankbait and paint.. if you screw it up... who cares.. be proud of your work and keep on PAINTIN!!! its only a fishing lure.. its not your wife's bedroom... .... So the best tip I could give you is if you want have a lasting relationship....get your wife her own room..!!! Keep your stuff in the garage. And you will become a much better painter! The Rookie .

Bondo glazing putty! You can buy it at a automotive supply store. After you sand 30 or 40 lures.. I promise if you ever sell them.. you will want 100 bucks for ever one you make!

Sorry Gunnie.. Im just making fun of this other house painter .. he uses gelcoat and I have others send me his baits to have repainted.. So my advice to you is.. forget gelcoat.. try Dick Nites or some other mositure cure urethane clear. You will be better off in the end. The Rookie

Gelcoat is RESIN!! Epoxy is a resin!! If you add glitter too it you can call it Diamond Glitter Gelcoat matched by NOBODY!!!

Big baits over time will catch bigger fish... Smaller baits over time will catch more fish... however...you can catch big fish on smaller baits and small fish on big baits. Think about how many times you have had a very tiny bass eat your crankbait.. I got a picture of mikey on my website where he caught a tiny bass smaller than a bomber speed shad.. He killed it..IM TELLIN YOU!!! IM TELLIN YOU!!! Im fixing one right now! The lip came right out of it.. Dont know if they forgot to glue it in..cause it came out perfect.. didnt break..just flat came out.. He was ticked.. said it happened on the first cast! I might put a different lip in it to give it a different action.. If anyone buys this bait you might want to double check the lips and make sure they are in good.. The Rookie

Rip tape and put it on your bait in a pattern design..ITS YOUR WORLD and ENJOY IT!! if you screw up go with it!! just keep painting.. just keep paint.. kinda like Dori from Finding Nemo!! ... move it all around the bait.. only shoot on the edges..takes forever but you will love the look when your done.. or you will hated it.. either way..a crawfish is suppose to look ugly and beautiful at the sametime. Pete's right.. you need to check all of that to find the problem.. normally when I have this problem.. I just take out the needle and jam it back in real good!! good tip for those that want a splatter back.. take the needle out a bit and you can come up with some funky sparys!!! Yes.. take a hairdryer and heat up the bait.. then take a hobby knife and gentle remove the eyes.. ... I put my eyes on purple painters tape when Im doing a repaint and if I want to save the eyes.. I would recommend replacing them because Sebile eyes take away from the overal look of the bait. I believe they would sale more baits if they had better looking eyes. just my opinion. take it for what it's worth. The Rookie
