    I use sty RA fOAM!!! Dam I wish I could spell... Anyway.. I use that foam that comes in most boxes when you buy a big ticket item like a TV or Kitchen Aid Heavy Duty Mixer... I push the back of the bait in the foam and make it level then I go to the band saw and cut away.. Works great for me.. Hope this helps.. The Rookie

    Make SUPER SUPER SMALL STENCILS!!! and you will have SUPER SUPER SMALL DETAIL no matter what kind of tip your using.. Maybe a .35 tip might work better for that than a .50 but most of the paint I use has to have a .50 mm tip or it will not come out of the gun.. I dont get into thinnin paint much.. I just add a little water and shake the bottle if it looks thick.. no ratio... just like JUSTIN THE CAJUN man!! I shake a tsp spoon in the bottle and go if its thick!!! Im telling you guys...     I paint all my baits with a .50mm tip... I hardly ever use my .35mm gun.. Unless Im paintin T-Shirts Good Luck

    GREAT ANSWERS GUYS!! I beg not to agree with Dean nor do I feel like I should disagree.. However if it's in my best interest to actually say I might feel like Dean's answer has some substance.. I my decline to comment on the true variance of his theroy. However may it be duely noted..on certain situations I might differ with my hired advisor regarding the sample data or statictial findings regarding this BS!!! So Depends might be a solid or runny answer for some.. BUT EXCUSE ME MR. MCCLAIN!! IM NOT BUYING IT!!! "THE CRAP STOPS HERE" BIG SPLASH OR NO SPLASH!!! DEPENDS!!! GIVE ME A BREAK!!! YOUR TURN MR.     Do you guys think the splash your lure makes when it hits the water makes a difference... like a big splash is good sometimes and bad other times... I know they say never scare the FISH with sound etc.. Just comment your thoughts.. I really dont have an opinion either way.. just thought it might be a interesting post to start.. dont know if this have been discussed before..

    I take Duck Tape the lure .. and STICK IT ALL OVER THE LURE!! then I pull the tape off.. then roll the lure in flour.. cook in it hot oil.. add salt and pepper.. then paint it!!! Works like a charm... ok ok.. ITS SUNDAY I WANT to have some fun!!!! Step 1. SCUFF LURE! Scotts bridge Grey or white.. get the shine off!! Step 2. Sand Lure 400 to 600 grit.. Step 3. Wash lure with Soap and washer (NOT WASHER TATER YOU IDIOT!!! WATER) or Simple Green!! Step 4. Dry it really good... and dont touch it with your fingers. Step 5. I use a adhesive primer called bulldog.. it bits into plastic.. auto body guys use it.. Step 6.. Prime the bait like Pete said!!! FLAT PRIMER something with NO GLOSS!!! Step 7. PAINT THE SUCKER!! Step 8. CLEAR THE SUCKER!! STEP 9.. DONT SELL THE SUCKER CHEAP!!! BECAUSE YOU JUST WORKED YOUR BUTT OFF!!!! Good Lucky and REMEMBER!!! "THEIR ARE NO MISTAKES IN PAINTING ONLY HAPPY ACCIDENTS" Bob ROSS!!
