Tx.. you can stripe the paint off with SIMPLE GREEN!!! It will not hurt your plastic.. only problem is you have to soak them for about 3 to 4 weeks!!! I have heard Castro Motor Oil works too.. I like the glass bead and sandblasting idea that sounds a whole lot better than mine!!. I just havent spent the money to try that yet.. Most of the time all you have to do to a plastic lure is scuff the shine off... 400 to 800 grit sand paper or scots or is scotts.. bright!! use that to scuff them... WET SAND THEM.. keeps the dust down and the dust off your sand paper.. GOOD LUCK!! Welcome to the site..

JFLURES... Dean's advice was right on... That is why I bug the crap out of him all the time..! But if you ever want a 2nd opinion.. I got a friend name MIKEY you might just want to talk too!!! He is not a lure legend.. He is a LURE GOD.. Mikey would tell you to dip your lures in the paint again after every cast!! That way you would save money on the clear and not ever have to worry about durability... I bet you never thought about trying that now did you...

Mark.. you have to shoot alot of layers!!! to get the effect you want.. It shows up better on dark backgrounds.. you do not need as many coats over dark to get it to show up.. but you need alot of coats on over white!!! like 8 to 12 LIGHT!! ! I MEAN LIGHT COATS!!!! too many and you milk the color!! 1. Shoot... dry really good. 2. Shoot it again.. Dry really good 3. SHOOt it again... over and over and over!! Good luck...

Dog hairs... carpet fibers... sand paper.. pet monkey for fatfingers... 25 bucks for Dean.. straws hat so you look cool while you paint.. good compressor... 4 or 5 airbrushes...pump yourself up watching Barney!! THE PURPLE DINO on PBS!! "I LOVE YOU YOU LOVE ME" IMAGNATION!!! that's key.. Barney will help. I think that about covers it... 500 bucks should get you all these supplies. Oh yeah... Walmart bags!!! You can make some cool marble effects with walmart bags!!! Saw that trick on a Barney tape!!! GOOD LUCK!!!

IM ONLY GOING TO SAY THIS ONE MORE TIME!!! MCDONALDS STRAW and Hot Air!!!! DONT LAUGH IT WORKS!!! Everyone knows Im full of hot air!! Ok let the comeback begin!!! That is how I painted my crappie!! THROWS THOSE LITTLE SPOTS EVERYWHERE!! Dont buy a little compressor!! Get a 33 gallon Craftsman!! I shoot 3 small compressors in 6 months before I finally got a Craftsman!! Now it only kicks on 2 to 3 times per day!! Its really not that loud.. I have had some smaller ones alot louder that ran all day long!! That is why I blew up the motor's!! Whenever the motor's were shot... I got a McDonalds Straw out and painted some baits!! Im telling yall its fun.. NOT JOKING!!! The Rookie

Bob is right as always!!! You can buy cheap paint at Hobby lobby.. sometimes you get lucky and get it on clearance for .49 cents a bottle.. Its really thick.. Look at your Createx paint.. Make your cheap paint the same thickness or thiness.. I dont know paint terms.. heck I dont even know my wife's middle name.. but I know she is my wife!! Any how.. Dont be scared to screw up!! I do it daily! Vince (Fatfingers) had a tip about clearing the base first then do your detail work that way if you screw up your detail work you can wash it off like Bob says and your still have your base!! I practice on a paper towel alot and make sure my paint is flowing. I spend more time cleaning my gun and keep my tips clean than I do paintin most days.. A HAPPY GUN is a CLEAN GUN!! Good Luck!
