  1. Ok SOFT PLASTIC EXPERTS..THIS DIPSTICK NEEDS YOUR HELP Potatoe Fat finally decided to make a soft plastic paddle tail style swimbait. I will post pictures of the bait later when I figure this crap out... I purchased Lurecraft Paint. Wish I had called them to ask but now its Saturday night and I figured they arent open. what is best way to spary lurecraft paint in an airbrush? Do you thin it? How do you clean out your gun when your done? Do you use the clear paint lurecraft sells to clear coat it? Can you thin it with other household products other than the stuff they sell that says it keeps it from drying fast.. I tried to spary my first bait other day with the stuff and it dry faster than I could get it out of the gun. Thanks guys, The Rookie
  2. I use only body wash sponge from the shower.. After I rub them all over me for 3 or 4 weeks they soften up to peak performance. I ran a test for 6 months... Just to see which method worked better.. Brand New Body Wash Sponge or USED ONE!!! Both will work..I just feel that the overall performance of the USED BODY WASH SPONGE WORKS best.. IF you USE OLD SPICE BODY WASH. I haven't tested DOVE or my old standby... KY JELLY MIXTURE as of yet... But I will sure keep you posted if anything new ARISES... FAT POTATO OUT!
  3. Rick, I buy it in bulk. 165 bucks for 10 LBS of RTV. Only 16 bucks per pound. Molds will only last you about 40 to 50 casts so you will need extra anyway and in the long run you save over buying the smaller amount.
  4. What'd you want give... do I hear 20 20 20 YEP! can we get 25 25 25 YEP! Do we hear 30 000 30 30 30 30 YEP! Can we get 40 40 40 40 Yep! This Hog Auction will be cont'd cause that baby is a fish catchin SOB... Way to go Ben. Great job

FIESTA EXPLOSION I HAD ALOT OF FUN PAINTING THIS ONE. Thought you all might get a kick out of looking at it and saying WHAT THE HECK?????
  6. If you dont want to wait 30 mins... use lacquer thinner.... Get a glass jar and fill some LT in the Jar.. then take off your back handle and remove needle...soak your gun tip in jar for about 30 secs.. also dip and wash off your needle.. then put your needle back in the gun and move it back and forth with your hand... watch all the old dried up paint start to come out of the gun into the glass jar. I do this 2 or 3 times per month to all my guns and they are still running strong.
  7. I had a new customer purchase a one of my foiled X Rated shad swimbaits 2 weeks ago on ebay. Yesterday he sent me this an email thanking me along with this pictures. Way to go Tommy! 16 pound 5 oz Bass taken from Lake Isabella outside of Bakersfield, CA
  8. Matt you do a great job with your baits.. I just checked them out in the Gallery..Thanks for the kind words.. For the record.. I suck at cutting straight lips! :) Its 50/50 whenever I push the bait towards the saw... but some of my best running cranksbaits are the ones I screwed up. Go figure.

  9. You better check that bait in at Betty Ford! I would say you did a good job on it but you dont like to hear that crap from me...So I will give you the highest grading possible.... DAMN THAT LURE IS UGLY! KEEP UP THE HORRIBLE WORK BEN! and send that bait to ME so nobody else has to look at it! I will make sure it says under the water and pulling drag. The Rookie
  10. Thanks for the kind words guys!! PETE YOU CRACK ME UP... too funny.... I LOVE IT! I have Douglas and Dean to thank on the foil work...I kept trying to do it for about 2 years and would quit after a few baits..I never could keep the wrinkles out of it..... Dean gave me a few tips and Douglas was alot of help over the phone...plus he sent me this beautiful bait that showed me how he cut the foil to lay on the bait. Rowhunter is the DA Man when it comes to Foil work!

  12. Sorry I didnt read all the posts above..IM TOO A.D.D to take up that much time.... I just read the topic... I would leave it alone.. THAT SOUNDS LIKE A FISH CATCHIN SOB TOO ME! Bait will look like its dying.
  13. Lipless bait is Fast Sinking. Single Jointed baited is Wake Floater. Both have great action and will be deadly in the Clear Water I fish on Lake Norman. Matt
  14. I havent posted anything in gallery in sometime.. New bait I have been working on for my box.
  15. Look it up on the Net Ronnie and you will find a dealer in your area.. I get mine at a local hobby shop in my town..but I didnt know they had it until I did the search and found them. I think Hobby Town USA carries it.. not sure... Sometimes its not called Bob Smith.. Basically Bob makes it and other stores put their own label on it... So it could be called something else and still be BOB Smith.. if that makes sense. 20 MIN FINISH CURE ... they make a 30 MIN Finish Cure... and its not the same stuff.. its more like devcon.. YOU WANT THE 20 MIN!!! TRUST ME. The Rookie
  16. RONNIE, BOB SMITH EPOXY .... 20 min FINISH CURE Good stuff! Goes on thin and you really do have 20 mins of working time.. unlike devcon..where they tell you you got 30mins but you really only have 2.
  17. Here is one of my knockoffs..It was free didnt cost me a thing...you can bid on it right now on ebay! and Support the Victory Junction Charity. People will buy original items.
  18. This just in... I hear there is a new company out of china selling knockoff condoms. Called "Press your Luck" It may or may not break. Its almost as effective as the real thing..but a whole lot cheaper....SAVE MONEY SAVE MONEY!!! kinda reminds me of a Gieco ad.... Sure you can save 15 percent but the fact they forget to tell you is they might lower your coverages to save you this money. You still have to get 15 to 20 bucks to make money selling knockoff lures on ebay or where ever you sell them..and even if you get 15 bucks your only making 7 bucks of profit at best. PAINT FAST MY FRIENDS... PAINT FAST!!!
  19. They are junk... You get what you pay for. Keep supporting this knockoff crap and none of you will ever make money painting lures because nobody will think your painting the real thing when you try and paint the real thing.. In the short run it might seem great but in the long run your hurting the craft itself.. just my opinion.

GREAT JOB MARK!! OUTSTANDING!!!! Keep them coming The Rookie
  21. Make the molds yourself spoon. You will keep it in house and control the whole process.. plus you will not risk 12,000 dollars on something that might fail. Not saying you will fail so please dont take it that way..Just trying to give you a option with less risk...but image if you spend 12,000 dollars..ordered 100,000 baits..and you can't sell them. Having a inventory at a low cost is one thing and it looks great on paper when you run the numbers..but selling a huge inventory is another. I dont know if you have an established demand or not but if you really want to go through the expense of having big time injection molding done in the US your going to have to spend alot more than 12,000 dollars to market it later in order to sell all the baits you want to sell. Just my opinion. Take it for whatever its worth.
  22. Great Job Bob! Im with Braided Line.. the green one is my favorite.
