  1. Been looking for a double burner hotplate ........ what companies put them on sale for $20 ......... I need to know where to watch for a sale ...... everyone I've seen is around $40
  2. The Badger Sotar 2020 advertises that it paints the finest lines but it's expensive .......... the Badger 100 series is the workhorse for fine lines ......... the garage sale has them for $30 .......
  3. call Badger ...... they are having a garage sale and they have some compressors on sale ....... I got an incredible deal and bought 3 of them and still paid less than $100 total ....... also check out Harbor Freight they have a couple of them that will di the job ...........
  4. Got mine over a month ago ............ to me it's well worth the money .......
  5. I'm really new to making plastic baits. I have the plastisol and I bought some colors, glitter and other suppllies from some of the sponsors but I need to find some coloring so I can make purple shads this weekend. I don't want to have to order a bottle of the purple color and pay for shipping and wait. I will get some on my next order but I was wondering if there were some things I might get from a craft store or something to hold me over till I make my next order? Thanks Rick
  6. Don't heat lead outside if there is a chance that a drop of moisture could fall into the pot ....... it WILL cause an explosion of 600 degree lead that will cause a scar ........ and if that's all ........ thank your God profusely ....... saw it happen ......... luckily only a small scar on a friend ........ Thank you God ......
  7. Thanks guys ........ definitely not for a beginner like me ........
  8. If you are fishing areas with little wave action and you want to deck it then I would trade/sell it and get a flat bottom because you won't be able to get the stability that you would get in a flat bottom. Mine is a 16 ft Grumman and 3 men can stand at one side and comfortably fish without fear of tipping ....... very stable ....... However, if you fish waters with 1-3ft wave then you would probably need a V hull because it has higher sides to handle the turbulance ...... but you would still need a larger wider boat if you wanted to deck it out .......
  9. Thanks all ......... I did a search before I asked but didn't find an answer ....
  10. Mine are Air Star V's and they are very quiet ....... bought 3 of them at the Badger Garage sale for $25 each .......... I think they were for sale less than an hour though ........ haven't checked the prices on the others ...... just telling you what I got ........ might be worth checking it out ......
  11. Mine are Badgers and are very quiet ......... BTW ....... you may want to check out Badger's Garage Sale ....... I picked up a good airbrush and a good compressor cheaper than the one you are looking at ......... but that was several months ago and I don't know exactly what they have left ...... but it's worth a look ......
  12. This is 1 way ....... Rigging Sluggos Find some striper sites ...... they should have some info ....
  13. I totally agree ....... I screwed an alumnium frame to the supports on the bottom and to wood blocks that were even with the bench seats and made a plywood deck with a bunch of hatches ......... it's very comfortable and the whole boat is storage below the decking .......
  14. Anybody know anything about that 3x plastic that Strike King makes the zulu's from ........ is there a simular formula or anything?
  15. Ross; I'm starting to do it. There was a post on Tidalfish . com last winter ...... Nov or Dec I think with a guy that was using a 1-3 oz jig head with a rubber shirt that he swore by for jigging for stripers. I have made some with skirts from fishing skirts . com and they look great. CAn't wait to see if they will catch. Also, check out the parachute rigs they troll with here on the Chesapeake bay ....... they are made with synthetic hair . I am also toying with the idea of making tubes and cutting the tails within 1/2 " from the head and rurning them inside out as a thick strand skirt. THe synthetic thinner strands will flow more than the thicker strands. Real Bucktail hair is hollow and traps air so it flows differently. Point is that the different materials do different things ...... you just have to experiment to see what each does and the effect you can give it ...... then pack your tackle for each type and change till you find what excites the fish. I like making a lure that noone else has and catching the ----- of the fist with something no one else has and noone else can get ........... Biggest so far this year is a 37 lb Striper in the Sussky Flats 2 weeks ago. Keep in touch and we'll compare notes Rick
  16. Great Guy ....... Great Product ...... Buy some and see ......
  17. I'm having a problem gluing eyes with posts to large tube lures. These are tubes that I bought a couple of years ago and I'm trying to glue some of Lisa's eyes with posts on the lure. I cut a small hole for the posts and I've used the glue to glue worms together and zap a gap but they just won't stick. Even tried roughing the surface on the tube lure and the back of the eye with sand paper. Can anyone tell me what kind of glue will work or how I can attach them. I think they look awesome if I can just get them to stay on. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks Rick
  18. Out of these colors, my preference would be a yellow background as a first choice and a silver for as a second .......
  19. Squigster ......... I agree 100% ........ businesses do need a slap in the face if they aren't giving good customer service. But quietly going somewhere else is not a slap in the face to me. I know everyone sees it differently and I respect everyones opinion, but going elsewhere without letting the company know why doesn't do you any good or the company. They don't know why you left and you are deprived of their good product. I'm not saying that anyone should be making a scene but that the company should be given the opportunity to make ammends to you and to maybe change their ways. I'm also not looking for anyone to lose their jobs because they had a bad day but if it is an on going problem then things must be changed. As far as the 20 yr old being thrown to the wolves ...... well ...... sometimes it's the management that needs some change and I probably would have said something to the upper management about their handling of the employee in front of a custmer. If the company doesn't make amends then they don't deserve your business but I usually try to give the company the benefit of the doubt by letting them know how I feel and letting them make amends. In this case, you went somewhere else because of the bad treatment you got and the company didn't have a clue .......... and I had a totally different experience ...... As I said ....... it's just my opinion .......
  20. I just drilled and attached some 8 and 9mm posted eyes on some shad heads for striper fishing and they looked great ......... red with black pupils is my all around favorite .....also yellow and black
  21. Squigster ........ wish you would have gotten that lady's name because I'm sure the owner would have liked to know how his customers were being treated. I called on Tuesday and talked to 2 different ladies and both were very helpful ........ spent over $100 in stuff and was treated very nicely and was given alot of hints and info ......... I'm not siding with them in the least ........ I firmly believe that people that do what they did to you need to find another job in a different industry and I don't take that from any place. When that happens to me I usually got right the top and report it. Rarely do I find that kind of customer service tolerated Sorry you had a bad experience ......... but mine was good .......
  22. I'm most likely wrong but I thought he used just simple talcum powder (baby powder) Speaking of that ........ I love that Mr Wiggley lure he has ....... does anyone have any plans/molds for one?
  23. Thanks ....... that's great info ........
  24. Thanks guys for all your help .......... I also found good info in the Best Plasic Sticky ....... should have checked that first I guess ....... anyway .... I just won the bid for 3 gals of Lurecraft 502 and I bought the tube making dvd so I guess I'm gonna join the soft plastics fun soon ...... Thanks again ...... One last question ...... does adding hardener make the 502 plastic into a 500 or adding softener make it a 536?
  25. Thanks guys but I was hoping for more info ...... Lurecraft's website said the exact same thing ......... I was hoping to find who used what for which type of lures Thanks Rick
