  1. Remember guys ........ CSI was boughtout about a year ago. I forget who but is was a big company ........ as usual, when this happens quality usually suffers. Yes Please post that list of powder paint manufacturers.
  2. Do they really have a patent on the design? Or are you using a name that they copywrited? If they don't hold a patent then the letter is just a bluff ..........
  3. Check out the video Stripers Gone Wild ....... I think they have a couple of clips of baitfish sounds. I also heard some undwater recordings of baitfish ........ they sounded something like a rattle trap only much softer .......... To me a little glow painted eyes and some small rattles would do almost the same thing with a fraction if the expense and effort ........ although ........ you could increase and decrease the intensity of the light and the sound with the clarity of the water etc
  4. Get a new wife ........... Seriously ........ I would epoxy a piece of starboard to the stern and screw the transducer bracket into it. If you epoxy the bracket right to the stern, it is essentially there for the life of the boat and that becomes a problem when you change your depthfinder periodically. By screwing it into the starboard, you can change and remove the transducer bracket anytime and you haven't drilled holes in the boat.
  5. First, you don't need the dual frequency for lakes unless you are going past several hundred feet. The 200mhz is what you need. Second, all GPS's are only accurate to only 2-3 meters. You're talking about 6-9 feet. I have 3 df/gps's and they get me close and I can position right overhead a n jig if I want ......... without the GPS I could be 30 or 40 ft away or more from structure I want to find. GPS to me is invaluable.
  6. maybe not but it got me 2 REALLY helpful ones ........ 1 after each btt .....
  7. Has anyone made a wooden topwater lure with these blades ........ http://www.staminainc.com/plugs_hardware/chopper_props.html ........ I was wondering how you mounted them ...... together in front, together in back, 1 in front of the lure and one in the back or just 1 blade on the lure ........ I want to make the lure for stripers on the Chesapeake .....
  8. I have some spirepoint jigheads 8 0z that I can powderpaint in glow colors ...... what glowcolors do you need and how many?
  9. Thanks guys ........ looks like super glue is the consensus due to it's price and availability ......... Senkosam ....... good idea to ad the weight to the mold ........ my problem is, that I don't cast plastic and I have a whole lot of these lures that I want to experiment with ......
  10. I'm a saltwater fisherman and I experiment with trying to make the lures better like everyone else. I'm using pencil lead in the hook slits of bass assassins and large fins fish and pushing the led into large sluggo's to give it a more natural and horizontal sinking. I need a glue to glue the hook slot/cavities together around the weight to keep it from falling out. I know they used to make a plastic worm repair glue ........ does any one know if there are other better glues?
  11. I'm looking for some of the new standout hooks for dropshotting but I need them to be heavier for saltwater fishing. The ones I've seen look like they would be straightened by a decent sized striper. This is an example of what I want only heavier http://www.jannsnetcraft.com/dropshot-hooks/861117.aspx

    Holoshore rattlers

Love those lures ......... where do you get the foil
  14. How do you dip spinnerbait/buzzbait heads without getting paint on the hook or the shaft ? I have 2 flowbeds and I've never been able to figure out how to do it ......... That's what makes this site so good ...... sharing info and new techniques.
  15. Hey Thanks Guys for the info ............ I'll keep my eyes open for a deal on an Iwata ......... I checked their website ....... Guess I'm looking for a HP-BC Plus model because it allows for quick changes between bottles so you can change colors. Any advantages or disadvantages I should be aware of in different models?
  16. I have a couple of different fliud beds ....... one I bought from someone on Ebay that makes them and one from CSI. The difference between the 2 seems to be in the containers. The CSI containers have a more consistant and even air flow across the bottom where as the other one had different spots around the bottom where the air came through. You could see it where the paint boiled. CSI seemed to have one large boil where the other one had 4 or 5 smaller ones. But of course the CSI was almost double the price of the other one.
  17. Sorry but the search function doesn't seem to be working ........ maybe because archive data was lost when the provider went out of business ........ and the other 2 similar threads didn't answer my questions. So I'd appreciate some help ......
  18. It's hard to powder paint a spinner bait because of the wire ....... you usually have to spray the powder paint on a spinner/buzz bait. Unless of course you don't mind the hook being painted also.
  19. Hey guys ....... I'm new to the site and new to lure painting ........ I was wondering what the differences were among air brushes. I bought a couple of cheap ones at Harbour Freight last year and I was wondering what their capabilities were compared to the expensive ones. Also, what aib brush do you really need to paint lures and what are the best ones to buy. Thanks Rick
  20. Hey guys ....... I've made just a few lures .... so I'm kinda new at the wood lures ....... I'm just curious ...... why don't you use screw eyes instead of runnind wire all the way through and bending it? ........ seems like it would be easier .......
