Better and better my friend, Wish we could rotate the pic so the color shift would show. I think this one is going to catch me some bass later this month. John

Great looking color scheme, almost looks real. I think you are a master of baits
  5. Are you looking for the Foam to make the lure or the RTV silicone to make the mold?
  6. I wondered what had happened to you. Glad to hear that you are getting well and are back with us. Look forward to your postings again. John
  7. I was in Hobby Lobby today here in Tennessee. They actually had some AYC. Did not look at price. You may want to try them out there if you have Hobby Lobby stores.

    Work In progress.....

Guys, I got to see Vic,s Waddle Bat in person yesterday. Matter of fact I am now the proud owner of one and a few others. Thanks Vic. The hunting action is awesome, much more impressive than in the video. He has this action nailed. Its not just a couple or three inches tracking off to either side, but a very serious almost violent veering off course to both sides. It really looks like a fleeing minnow trying to get away from a predator. The finish on his baits are now near perfect. I can't wait to take this one to the lake. By the way, where was the Cobra hiding? Was I close enough to get bit by it? John

Not putting your lures down, you know I like them. But my first thought when I saw these was that they look like a bunch of happy snakes poking their head out of the den and smiling at you. How weird is that? Who ever heard of a happy snake? I think I need a week of R&R. John

    The Fortunecookie Told Me

makes a believer out of me!!
  12. What I think, Its different and I like it. A question, the black on this lure looks like a colored or tinted epoxy. Am I correct? John

Well, it turned out to be a good looking lure. I lie the shape of your bib. How deep does this get?
  17. Hello Vic, good question. I have sealed balsa with super glue but never by dipping. This may sound silly but I would worry about it soaking up too much super glue and catch fire during the curing/hardning process. there have been times when gluing in a hook hanger that the wood/glue actually got hot enough to smoke, and it stinks, not to mention the burning sensation in your nostrils. also, when gluing up a hanger, I have had super glue soak all the way through the wood from the inside out and glue my fingers to it so I would assume that it would readily penetrate rather deep into the balsa wood. don't know about other more dense woods. Me thinks I will mostly be sticking with PVC when I have time to tinker. I do know that compared to balsa sealed in other ways it really hardens the wood and makes it have a very different sound if you hit it against something hard.

    Gumbone waddle Bat

Great footage, I believe you have this one figured out. Does it hunt at all retrieve speeds? Your finish on this one looks perfect. Six weeks, don't think I could bring myself to even throw it for feat that a big ole bucket mouth would steal it from me. :-)

I bet you will be very successful with these. John
  25. Smoky, thanks for sharing that is a very interesting bait. I have never heard of or seen one before. I could not determine by watching the video if the blade has any cup to it and if so was the concave side facing up or down. Has anyone seen or held one of these lures in their hand? If so could you answer that question? Vic, I like you beagle analogy of the hunting lure. LPO has a blade called a Royal Blade, it looks to be about the same shape as the blade on the the Waddle Bat. Just a thought that crossed my mind after seeing the video of the Waddle Bat. I am wondering if one of these Royal Blades could be attached to the underside of a shallow running crankbait and get the same results as shown in the video.
