  1. Good advice, trying to replicate something you have made weeks ago by memory is virtually impossible especially if you don't have one to look at. I give my jigs names then in a spiral notebook, I write down the description of the skirt color and how many tabs and or strands of each color and how they are placed on the jig whether it is a finesse/spider skirt or a regular style skirt which I call a "Flop Over" in my description. I learned this the hard way when I lost my last jig of a batch that I had made up a couple of years prior. Some patterns are slightly complicated and my Memory just ain't what it used to be.
  2. That is a very interesting jig. I also thought that the contraption they used to show a jigs rotation when pulling it through a bass's lips was very unique. Makes me wonder how I ever hook a bass with my ordinary jigs. I do always spread my weed guards out into the fan shape. I also know that I usually miss a few fish on just about every trip. I have always thought that I was a little slow on the hook set when this happens. Maybe I am not and this laying over on its side and slipping through the lips might be the problem. Maybe, I need to order a few of these jigs. I like their concept, just goes to show that innovation is still alive and well. My hats off to whom ever came up with this idea. John Blazier

I really enjoyed your video, especially the part where you shared your method of using the paper templates to make the gills and eyes. That is definitely a good looking lure. Is that PVC foam board that you used to make the lure? Thanks for sharing this with us. John

  7. Alumilite works well, but it sure is hard to get it out of an aluminum mold if you let it set up to hard. These were made in an ultra minnow mold with alumilite. http://www.tackleund...finished-lures/ Quote MultiQuote Edit =181265&st=&auth_key=a982a18f06912da3dc939b8d0945a2f2"]Delete

Very interesting, I second Littlerivers opinion. You will definitely need a swivel. I bet it will catch fish. John

My, what big eyes you have. I like em!!
  13. A variable heat gun is all I have ever used and I am very content with it. I have had it for several years now and haven't had any trouble with it. It is a Wagner. I used to heat my jigs with a little butane mini torch. Don't think I have scorched a jig since I went with the heat gun. It Is more convenient and much safer on my cluttered bench than the torch was.
  14. Yes there was but I forgot to attach the link to it. RayburnGuy, Thanksfor taking care of that. I ain't that old yet but my forgetfulness seems to happen much more often than it used to. John

yes, it is very nice, what kind of wood did you use?
  16. Vodkaman built this one. Fairly simple and looks easy to build. Maybe it is what you need. It will definitely keep the space between the wraps consistent. Hope this helps. John
