  1. Got some of the new Do It screw locs from Barlows today. Do It changed them a little. Instead of the screw loc wire being bent in a right angle they are now shaped like a "U" at the end. This should give them a better bite in the lead and keep them from getting loose. I haven't poured any yet but will try them tomorrow.
  2. I've cut down one of the 1/8" pins to where the end is right at the head, slid it into the screw loc then pour.
  3. I stopped using the Do-it screw locs that are supposed to be used with the Do-It mold. I started using hitch hikers that Barlows has. You can actually hook the hitch hiker over the hook before pouring. Since I went to this I haven't had loose screw locs or had any break off when catching a fish. It does take a little effort to get the hitch hiker in the mold before pouring but its worth it to me.
  4. It is in far enough. When they break you can still see the wire in the head.
  5. I am using the stainless made by Do-It. They are breaking right against the lead. Do you think if I pouring the lead too hot it could weaken the spring? It is a little aggrivating that they are breaking but atleast they were breaking when we were catching fish. I will try turning the pot down a little and see if that helps.
  6. Anyone having screw locs breaking when you catch fish. I poured a buddy a bunch of football jigheads with the screw locs. We fished a tournament yesterday and everytime he caught a fish the screw loc was breaking off. I tied one on and the first fish I caught the screw loc broke. I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else.
  7. I am an electrician so I have access to many different sizes of wire. What I use is the individual strands from a #8 stranded copper wire. You can go to HD or Lowes and buy it by the foot. Usually about $0.25 per foot. There are several strands in the #8 so 10' of it for $2.50 will go a long way.
  8. Anyone know where to get a hidden weight spinnerbait mold?
