  1. Nice fish and bait Mark. I think I have that mold...is it 5X894?
  2. Just can't help myself...I've posted this about 10 times...been using this heating setup since 1975. It has many advantages over the microwave. Uses heat lamps to melt the plastic. I can pour until I run out of plastic or molds.
  3. Here's my version of light hitch. The back is MF gold pearl liquid and a pinch of MF antique bronze powder. The belly is sparkle pearl and .015 silver.
  4. A photo would help get you a good answer...otherwise it will be guesses. From my personal experience...I've spent hours carving masters of a 6" swimbait and making molds and still didn't get the action I wanted...did this twice. My mistake was a little too thick in the tail. They would swim well under a medium to fast retrieve but not on a slow one. Hope this helps...be patient...you'll get it.
  5. I agree with Smallie...I dip my swimbaits only to seal them...when I rig them I open the entire hook slot. Works better for me.
  6. Here's how I added the hook slot to a adding a hook slot to POP
  7. I use clamshells made by Placon and have had baits in them for over two years...they will not melt or even get damaged (MF and Calhoun plastic) I have had some California Swimbabes in the factory clamshell since 2007 with no damage. The big swimbait companies all use them so I don't think this is an issue.
  8. That's a tough one. Are the frogs you're dipping fresh? meaning they haven't had time to make a little oil on the surface. I really think though it's the temperature. Either too cold to even bond slightly or even may be condensing a little moisture in between.
  9. I use these pans from Barlow's. They work well if heating with a burner or lamps. My link
  10. Nice work...that Beaver mold is "sweet"
  11. Great color....now three color injected baits ???!!!
  12. In answer to your question I have fished flat-sided beavers with success. They were made from Lurecraft molds that are no longer for sale but POP would work. I'd also turn the little fins around so they'd be easier to pour. There are also some great aluminum (one piece) ones around. Several sold on ebay last week. Here's a fish I caught on a 3.5" flat sided beaver in green pumpkin.
  13. Great job on everything..from mold making to painting..that's a great rainbow trout color

    A few more

Very nice work...I like all the colors
  18. What is the color you want ? There are a bunch on ebay from the same seller. You might contact them and ask if they have what you're looking for. Just a thought.
  19. I'd suggest you list the lures on ebay to test the waters and see if they will sell. The listings give you International exposure. When the buyers do a search it is by item usually so you don't need a store to get started. I know the fees are there but you can price accordingly. That way you can get started right away while you're working on the other stuff. Best of luck!
  20. Thanks Frank for taking the time and effort to make and post all these great videos. You are a master!!
  21. Great idea and baits look awesome...those tails will have more action and look more alive than a tube
  22. Lurecraft also has several under creature baits.
  23. Great looking baits...how about a post on how you do that?
  24. doesn't sound like a mold problem but bubbles in the plastic...a common problem we all deal with...especially if you've shaken the plastic right before cooking. Just part of pouring. I cook my plastic until most of the bubbles are on top and remove them with spoons. The longer you cook the more the bubbles will come to the top and pop.
