  1. The UV dye can be purchased from Spike-It (Lureworks). The tungsten powder can be purchased from Alumilite Corporation.
  2. I just got 5 gallons of MF medium sinking plastic for xmas and poured some swimbaits with it today. It pours very well, not very much smoking, doesn't discolor, and no problems with bubbles. Haven't thrown the bait yet but so far I am impressed.
  3. Has anyone tried M-F's sinking plastic? How does it compare to their regular plastic as far as smoking, bubbles, clarity?
  4. Newb to the hardbait side of things here. Can Alumilite White be used in an aluminum mold? I was having trouble finding out if there were any issues with that. Thanks.
  5. Sorry about the typo earlier I meant to say 4 oz. plastisol 2 tsp. salt
  6. Am I mistaken on the salt to plastic ratio? Even if the ratio is less, is it possible to use a hot plate and keep salt suspended throughout the cup while pouring or injecting?
  7. Hi everyone, I use a hot plate with 4 oz. aluminum cups to pour and inject my baits. I have been interested in getting into making stick baits as well and know the basic formula is 1/2 salt to however much plastic is used ( i.e. 4 oz plastisol 2 oz. salt). I have read a lot about guys having problems trying to use hot plates and meet this ratio and still come out with consistent baits because of the salt sinking to the bottom of the cup. My question is it possible to use a hot plate and still get a consistent salted bait either by injection or pouring? If so, what is the secret? I like using the hot plate set up and really don't want to go microwave. Thanks for any advice.
  8. Newb here. What does the original style Kodiak look like? Does it look like the Beast mold that Bear now sells?
  9. Are the FS6 molds hand pour or injection?
  10. Well I poured my first baits with the Ultrasol Soft last night and must say I was disappointed. I was hoping the bubble problem wouldn't be as bad as with the Pourasol I heard about, but the micro bubbles were terrible. I was only able to eliminate the majority of them by heating extremely slowly and stirring much less as compared to LC Maximum Flex. I still ended up with a couple bubbles per bait no matter what I did. I am using a hotplate with aluminum cups but this stuff bubbles like crazy. I already order new plastisol from Lurecraft and will be sticking with it from now on. The only credit I can give the Ultrasol is that it pours very easy and cleans up very easy, other than that I am definitely not pleased with it.
  11. Hi everyone, Newb to pouring here. I have been using LC Maximum Flexibility plastic and have liked it but I am curious about Spike It's Ultrasol Medium and Soft. I have seen a lot about the Pourasol but was wondering if anyone has any experience with Ultrasol. I do both hand pouring and hand injection. Thanks for any help and love all the information you guys provide on the forum here.
  12. Thanks Gunnie, exactly what I was looking for. Good Fishin'
  13. Hi all, Recently, I have seen some custom lure painters selling jerkbaits that look exactly like Megabass Ito 110 jerkbaits even though they are not. I am trying to find out where I can purchase these Ito 110 replica bodies. I have checked the forum here and went to many of the websites that sell knockoffs and unpainted lure bodies but have not found anyone who sells the 110 blanks. Does anyone know where I can buy these? Thanks for any help.
