  1. Are you serious? Oh well, much too late to file a grievance w/ your credit card company. You really can't take the spots off a lepard.
  2. Hold your jig by the hook and dip on an angle into your fluid bed -just to the bottom of the eyelet. Keep the heat away from the eyelt by heating the bottom of the jig w /a pencil, butane torch. These work well to remove a painted eye- http://www.ebay.com/itm/JIG-EYELET-CLEANER-IDEAL-REMOVE-PAINT-JIG-EYE-/271041926693
  3. You've hit the nail squrely on the head. Some folks just get intimidated by something new and better that cost $- so they ridicule it which I.M.O. is foolish w/out even trying the Shooting Star System before engaging their jaw bone. I'll state this once again- The biggest advantage is eliminating a cold blending block and having heated injectors. Using an I.R. thermometer to even the temps. in the Presto pots is paramount to sucess as well as both mixes being the same viscosity. The dual ,heated injector never has to be cleaned I had a bad experience w/ an exploding pyrex cup years ago and will NEVER use them again in an microwave or any other heating method. i was very fortunate i was holding it @ waist height when the hand grenade went off. I've read all the "never had a problem w/ them" here in the forum but for your own education and future safety, google exploding pyrex and read the stories.
  4. Hardener can be tricky to use. Mix a harder plastisol w/ you current one and develope your desired hardness
  5. Purchase some MF hard plastisol and add 4 oz. per 12 oz of the re-melts for starters. Hardener must be added to cold plastisol then heated. You may not get an even consistency adding hardener to new, cold plastisol and re-melts
  6. The shoooting star systems works because- 1- there are no blending block to cool the plastic 2- the dual injector has a variable heated control that keeps the injector hot, hence no cooling of the plastic 3- much more reliable and safer vs. the pyrex and micro wave deal 4- repeated heating in the microwave affects the plastisol viscosity and lighter colors 5- much faster w/ consistent results vs. all the negatives associated w/ pyrex and microwaves Yes it does cost 1k + for the initail set-up w/ complete pots and accessoriesbut in the long run saves money, time and aggrevation. Is it the perfect solution,no,but its the best available and minor changes are in the works to work w/ small amounts of plastisol in each presto pot.
  7. The Shootstar system from Bears baits will end your problems providing both colrs are of the same viscosity and temperature.
  8. Lurecraft used to sell the yellow pearl powder. Gold never gave me the blochy appeareance in road kill/camo that yellow pearl does.
  9. Road Kill camo-for 10 oz. of plastisol 1- 2 drops of Straight Green 2- 20 drops of green pumpkin 3- 3 drops of rootbeer 4- 6 drops of black 5- 2 pinches of yellow pearl 6- 1 pinch of copper pearl Be careful w/ the copper pearl as too much will ruin the mix.You can add yellow pearl and 1-2 drops @ a time of green to any good green pumpkin mix . A tiny pinch of copper pearl can also be added. Your color will not turn out correctly w/out the yellow pearl
  10. I've never experience this w/ any plastisol I've used from Lurecraft, Calhouns ,Spike-it and Chemionics. , I've witnessed a few worms swell to 2-3x's then normal size when left in water or expelled by bass.I've been told that in the past, some of the bigger manufacturers used a cheaper substiute(other then 100% plastisol) that would cause plastics to swell. I would be interested to hear some facts (not hearsay) from any of the manufacturers on the board that have experienced this. There is some talk about swelling worms blocking the digestive system of bass and the difficulty they have in passing them through their vent.
  11. Completely un-necessary w/ scent imprenanted baits.
  12. If you wanna play,ya gotta pay. Do yourself a big favor and for the sake of your eyes, face ,arms and hands- buy you baits. It's much cheaper and safer.
  13. Request one from the manufacturer of the plastislol you purchase
  14. To do laminates consistently ,both containers of plastisol must be the same temp. and viscosity. Your mixing block and injectors need to be heated and depress evenly. The shooting star system fron Bears solves all of the aformentioned problems/ requirements.
  15. There is the possibility you're getting air into your injector due to a faulty "O"ring seal. Make sure your plastic temp is 325- 340 degrees and check w/ an IR thermometer. Do your finished grubs dry soft and flexible or are they hard? If possible take a pic of both sides of the open mold and post. You want to inject s-l-o-w-l-y and evenly w/ you hand pressure and stop when you feel resistence. You should feel no changes or sudden drop in the plunger while your mold is filling BTW- why don't you know the type, hardness and source of your plastisol?
  16. Are you running out of plastic befor the injection port is filled to the top? If so,you need a larger injector capacity. BTW- who's mold is it and make and viscosity of plastisol you are using ?
  17. It sounds like my L-46 .laminated green pumpkin/watermelon
  18. Hardener must be added to and stirred into cold plastisol before heating.. 1 teaspoon in 16 oz. of plastisol will change the consistency considerably
  19. Why don't you dip the 2nd color while the tubes are on the rods and still warm from the initial color?
  20. http://www.bearsbaits.com/ http://www.basstackle.com/ I apologize for the tripe post but wanted to get the links correct. There is no delete buttom to remove un-necessary,duplicate posts.

  22. 7K is merely scratching the surface of the money pit associated w/running a professional soft-bait plastic business w/custom,multiple CNC molds, website cost, packaging and related injection equipment. It will take a minimum of 5 years, mucho free handouts and costly advertising to become establised. The complete costs of your start up business could reach 40K+ over the span of 5 years w/ little profit. 1- Quality or quantity?? You'll need some expensive Zorn machines if you want to produce quantity 2-If you're going to sell the identical baits that Bass pro,Cabelas etc sell, then you had better be cheaper. Bait and tackle stores want a minimum of 40% off of your retail prices providing they are proven products. You'll get "hung out on the line'' if you get sucked into a consignment deal. 3- Figure $2.00 net profit per bag after all expenses and excise tax. Now throw in trademarks and patents-OUCH!! @--For the purpose of discussion, let's say you sell 10,000 bags of plastic products per year. that's only 20k income. You can't support a family on that for sure. Reseach your options throughly, review the limitations of your financial resources and then decide in which direction you wish to go. This is one cutthroat business for sure and to suceed as a legitament business you'll be required to continuosly put in countless hours and $. Good luck!
