  1. I have custom ,single cavity Chris Archer swim-bait molds you would like. I can sell you 3 each of 3'',3.75'' and 4.75". They are the skinny ones you desire. $35.00 each plus shipping. Single cavity injection molds w/ a 5/8 " port

  2. Another lengthy reply that wastes time and $ to get the end results. Get a custom ,precision CNC injection mold made or like Travis states, research all the trick worm molds available today for a fraction of the cost of a custom mold.
  3. So kindly tell all of us bubbling inducing stirrers how you mix a 5 gallon pail of Plastisol?? -or a 55 gallon drum?? Especially one that hard packs/separates!!!
  4. I believe it's Do-its Ultra spinner bait head. I make the short-arm wire forms myself w/ a Worth wire bender and .040 stainless wire. Here's another version w/ a custom spinner bait head from Chris Archer of Ultra-Molds.The spinner bait head is not painted and also features a custom ,extended wire keep for the soft-bait
  5. Make your own short-arm spinner bait wire forms to create this-
  6. I 've had this one from Barlow's for years
  7. Ah ha- free lead is the culprit but not always the best answer. You can smelt(mix x-ray room lead 75% to 25% lino lead and significantly lower the hardness so it's more workable lower pot temperatures
  8. Lino lead can have a BLN rating of 12-22- which is too hard for low temps of 800/850-been there ,done that w/lino lead. You want pure soft lead(BLN 5) from Roto metals for jigs
  9. For soft lead I set the temp @ 750 degrees. For harder lead w/ antimony .I use a hand pour ,small pot which raises the temp of the harder lead to 900 degrees. BTW Jig man- what is your lead source?
  10. "You gotta attract them and hold their attention before you can catch 'em! " 1- Location 2-Seasonal pattern/water temperature/weather conditions 3- Preferred artificial presentations within that seasonal pattern pattern 4- water color,stain/sunlight/cloudy 5- Fishing pressure 1-5 are paramount for prime consideration for success prior to any artificial bait presentation.
  11. You are having 1 frustrating RCBS pot after another.Hopefully this gets resolved
  12. Is your pot on a 20 amp circuit breaker line w/ no other appliances on the same line?
  13. David- I wish you a speedy recovery. Al Winco
  14. I pour soft lead( brinell rating of 5) between 700-750 degrees w/ my RCBS pot.- some @ 700 and 750 for intricate custom jig molds The guide is the best thing since sliced bread-I.M.O. I use a small dipping pot w/ a ladle for hard lead which requires temps. of 900-925
  15. Thanks for the feedback. Use acetone to rough clean and soak your airbrush ,then the expensive VL & Jig thinner or MEK for a final clean-up.Eventually ,you'll need to soak the brush and cap-(soak the cap separately is a different container.Kelchner cocktail sauce containers work well for this. Do not damage the needle. You'll need some q-tips,pipe cleaners and airbrush cleaning brushes- http://www.ebay.com/itm/5-piece-AIR-BRUSH-Precision-Cleaning-Brush-Set-Micro-Mini-Cleaning-Brushes-NEW-/261658954783?hash=item3cec16cc1f:g:pyYAAOSwIBBUZNZG This product works well. I even put a small amount inside the tip via a q-tip to slow the build-up of paint-http://www.tcpglobal.com/PASAL-2.html?gclid=CjwKEAjwja_JBRD8idHpxaz0t3wSJAB4rXW5hcxOYKal0BpxdNZ0hWzWNf84Z60NNjzJTI_RNu8AihoCLFDw_wcB#.WSy8T9y1ucw
  16. I have an RCBS pot and love it. This may be a viable option if you can't find one. http://www.opticsplanet.com/lyman-mag-25-digital-melting-furnace.html
  17. You are welcome-let me know how it works out
  18. I used CS VL&J paint for years. Never had that problem w/Pasche brushes. VL/V LS and H models. These brushes still work fine after 30 years. There are parts that need to be replaced eventually. I am not a fan of Harbor freight anything! Go to a good hardware store or plumbing supply. They may be able to match up the "O" ring for you
  19. The blueish haze indicates you have soft lead.Scratch it w/ your fingernail
  20. Speckled trout( call weakfish up north )have teeth .Be happy you're catching all those Reds and Trout. 5-10 fish per bait can't be that expensive if you're making your own baits- 10-20 per soft-bait is a bit greedy. Enjoy the action!
  21. Tizzle T- Thanks for taking the time to say thank you for all of the helpful information. Many times we (the real professionals who spent the time and $ to learn) never see a thank you and are taken for granted .
  22. I use this pot for ladle pouring and keep the ladle in the molten lead when not pouring w/ the mold on top of the pot in a slightly open position. This is the trick for using harder lead w/ antimony/tin w/ a pot temp. of 900-925. Proper ventilation of fumes is a must. Smoking the ladle or spraying w/ drop out is paramount to easy, complete pours w/ out all the associated dross/impurities that will cause incomplete pours. http://www.barlowstackle.com/Lee-4-Lb-Lead-Melting-PotBR110-Volt-Model-P349.aspx This pot will run your lead temps in excess of 1,000 degrees if you bank it.Precision lead temperature monitoring is strongly recommended
  23. There are molds that pour better w/ a ladle and those that pour better w/ a RCBS bottom pour pot. Once size doesn't fit all when pouring molten lead into molds. Hard lead ( lead w/ antimony and or tin)does not pour well from a bottom pour pot for buzz-baits and spinner baits.
  24. Recommendations for you based upon my 29 years of pouring. Believe me when I tell you I had fits w./these molds when I 1st got them. I originally used soft lead for baits i sold and ended up replacing every one of them because they loosened up. You'll need a HEAVY DUTY PAIR OF LEAD TRIMMING DIKES 1- Pure lead has a Brinell rating of 5 which is soft. Your buzz-baits will loosen up after 2-3 bass- use lead w/ antimony. You can increase the harness of your soft lead by smelting solder(Tin) w/ your existing soft lead to your desired hardness 2-I smoke my molds w/ a beeswax candle- others prefer a regular candle 3-The tip to use a block of wood to level to mold was spot on 4-Keep your ladle in the pot of molten lead between pours- Lee makes a small pot for ladle pouring only. Setting 4 1/2- 5 should heat your harder lead to 900-925 degrees 5-Positioning inside the mold is critical. You do not want the hook eye # the bottom of the cavity 6-Smoke the hook and wire form before pouring. 7- Heating the wire form and hook briefly w/ a small butane torch will help 8- It's very helpful ,if not essential, to check the temp of your lead w/ a digital Pyrometer
