  1. I've picked up a couple of the artist brushes as well. To me like Ben, the Sable brushes are the best. Soft, very supple and clean thoroughly with DA and then clean again.
  2. A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and yours at Tackle Underground!
  3. J, sorry swimbaits are secret, they don't exist.....that is not the swimbait you are looking for. lol
  4. The way I start is nothing more than a flat shape with a center line. Lip slot cut, ballast hole, line tie and hook anchors drilled. I just start taking off material off with an Exacto knife. Once the bait is shaped the way I like it and it looks symmetrical (symmetrical being most important) I sand with a Dremel drum to take off the knife marks and then sand with 100, 150 and 400. Primer, sand the primer with 400 and then paint. Nothing sacred, just lots of practice to get the bait symmetrical!
  5. Probably with a small Forstner bit.

    I'd say you've got a winner!
  8. I've built several baits out of redwood and yellow pine. There is a fellow in town that uses poplar for his baits. Jerry
  9. Same here, kept trying to go on the site and kept getting the error message.

    Woods?

Really can't add to what has been mentioned but X2 on the dust mask. Especially when sanding. When sanding the particles of PVC get charged with static electricity and cling to everything, even skin. Just be careful with the sanding aspect of shaping. However the carving as Mark said isn't a problem, and always use a sharp knife! Jerry
  13. I think you mean method, but I agree with Ben, round wider wobble, flat, tighter. Jerry
  14. You're going to pay for customs. I contacted Tap Plastics to make diving bills for me. It was a $100 just for the set up fee and then it was per x bills. They are all laser cut, so they would be perfect. I haven't done it yet but it's something I'm planing on.

    Sweet baits. Very nice.
  17. The problem I found with some paints is "air". I have a few bottles that have chunks of paint that foul the airbrush, so I have to remember to strain it to remove the "problems". Cheese cloth works well. I buy my paint at a local craft store that carries Createx but you can get online at airbrush city.....Just click on "PAINT".
  18. Any of the plastic blanks I've painted, I'd sand first to scuff up the surface and remove any mold ridges, then a primer coat, then paint as usual and finish with D2T.
  19. I'm with Ben on this one. Photos will help a bunch, also symmetry is of the utmost importance when doing round shaped baits. Jerry
