  1. Hopefully I don't grow an extra arm or something! Haha.
  2. Haha, yeah. There used to be a sticker on it but I can't read any of it except for maybe sodium.
  3. Hmmm. I don't know what the BTU is, time isn't a big deal if I turn it on the highest heat will it work or should I find a different option?
  4. I have a Coleman propane stove. Does that work? What should I use to make smaller ingots once I flux and clean? Thanks!
  5. Hey everyone, I got these two blocks of lead for free and I need to clean them up, probably get the impurities out and resize them to be manageable for when I start pouring jigs. Here's a picture of them. They're pretty darn heavy. The one on the left is ~3.5 x 3.5 x 3.5 the one on the right is ~3.5 x 3.5 x 2.5. They have a gray paint on their outer sides. I have no idea what they were used for but they fit together and have a hollow area, any ideas? I don't have jig pouring stuff yet but plan on getting it soon. I want to have this lead cleaned up and resized for when that happens. What should I do? Thanks.
  6. Hey Everyone, It's been a while since I've been around this site. I used to be Crimson_Death216, meh, decided to change it to something better. Life grabbed a hold of me and I had to deal with that for a while so I wasn't able to actually get any where with making lures. I still tie flies a lot and I've recently (heh sorta recently, I started really slow) making rods. I'm close to finishing my first fly rod, and I have 4 or 5 other "future projects" in mind. Hopefully that hobby takes off once I finish this first rod that has taken me a good while. Let's see. I'm getting a kayak once the weather warms up. That will be my main fishing vessel which is pretty exciting considering I've been researching and wanting one for 2 years. Yeah, still in Colorado at CSU, sophomore this year. Hopefully I can actually start making lures, plastics, jigs, etc. soon. I'm not going to have much money to get into it right now because of the kayak and college but I'll start slow as usual and in a few years I'll have all the stuff I need. I look forward to getting back into the discussions on this site and all that jazz. My goal for the future: gather the info, and make a working, fishable swimbait. Or several. Hope everyone is well, Orion

  8. Yeah, we're going with the males in my family, they'll be ten of use, it should be lots of fun. Thanks for the info.
  9. We're going to Sportman's Lodge, so whatever part that's on. I'm unsure of the exact place because it'll be my first at LotW.
  10. Hey everyone, I'll be heading off to Lake of the Woods for some ice fishing this Thursday. We'll mostly be targeting 'eyes but I'll catch anything I can. Any tips for LotW?? Thanks.
  11. The west side I think. Over by Pearson's Lodge (or Pehrson's or however it's spelled).
  12. I'm starting to like monocord more than flat waxed.
  13. I use firefox and have no problems.
  14. I get to go to lake vermilion every summer . My uncle has a cabin on the lake. I love it.
  15. He'll put a new one on. Welcome to TU ebby.

    Please HELP!!!

    Don't forget the search option.
  17. IMHO, the palomar is very very easy to tie. I've been using it for a long time and it has never broke on me once. I'm starting to use the grinner knot now though, theres a post on braided line knots a while back, (to read it search for grinner). Also, in my opinion as well, just because they didn't include your knot or some other knots didn't mean they got it wrong. They just concluded what the knots and line was telling them. You should send in your knot to them to go against the palomar, I sent in the grinner.
  18. Hey everyone, I was wondering what type of thread you use for different applications. I use flat waxed nylon for my jigs and pike flies, and sometimes I use waxed monocord. What do ou use for different applications?

    Soft baits

You could get a spearate tackle box for them.
  20. Guess it just depends on what type of fishing you're doing. I like the headless ones because I like to add a jig head. The other one is nice too.
