When I was tying flys alot I used a cheap hackle and slide it threw the hook eye after cementing the head. This would pull all the glue out of the eye and around the eye so it would not get back it. It would also leave a clean coated eye to attach your line to.
Gator I would love to see your paint jobs. I think you might have a good thing going. We might appreciate your art. I hope this dosn't sound bad. I can still fill your pain and think we all have our weaknesses and try to make the best of them. The help given looks good. I wish you luck.
227 trying to wait. For a pic like that I will. I hope our and your needs and wants for the pic are filled to the brim. I will keep adding to the views;).
I like it. Do it right the first time. If you go too cheap the first time you might give up. Especially if the product dosen't work right or at ok standards. I have a hp-ch adjusts air pressure on the brush. With the air pressure adjustment you can make it do alot more and broadens your abilities. Yes add the regulator.
I always go small in bad weather my self. Just try a 1/8-1/4 oz jig with a grub and tie a 1 1/2 tube with just a hook in it about 1 foot up the line. The surprise is most of the fish will be hooked on the tube. The jig spacing holds it off the bottom and I think a largemouth is not as aggressive when cold, not chasing larger prey. This is my opinion but it might be worth a try and might work for you.
Someone said that a cheap brush can be improved, so as to not leave bristles in your work, by clamping with pliers (or in a small vise) at the base of the bristles. It works for me.
Or add a drop of supper glue to the brush at the base before pinching it. not to much just enough the hold the hair.
I have the hi line hp-ch. The valve on it helped me learn the art alot faster than any other could provide, in my mind. The control you have with out veteran experience is incredible. I have not used the plus, but will not traid my hp-ch for any other brush. Good luck and I think you have a hard choice for you. Easy choice for me!
Lake powell is my favorite all time place to fish. Better than alaska. There is no slow time of day. The fish are aggressive and most of the time you can get a canyon to your self for fishing. Spring is better for the pan fish with the water rising into coves. I the fall stripers next to the cliffs are fun. Hint Hint Hint..............
Thank you, I will look for a salvage yard. We have a second hand store here but no bike parts and I need 2 the same. The bikes were $30.00 a peace. Do not want to spend $60.00 on sprockets.
Out of curiosity how many are you cutting. If it just a few I would use a vice with a rag holding the lure in place and cutting it with a 1/8" wide hand saw. Cutting with light strokes. I hope this dosn't sound dumb. Just trying to help.
The beauty of the set up is there is no program. Just simple mechanics. The concept is to get away for cnc or programs. It takes a lot of time and experience to write a progam. That is the reason it cost what it cost for aluminum molds (plastic or custom lead).
The plumbing sec. A plumber gos in a new house plumbs the house the puts the caps on the ends of the pipe and adds air pressure to the lines. If any air is lost in a hour they find the leak with a florescent soap like dish soap. Without the caps and air pressure the leak would be hard to find and most likely leak after the house is compeated, rotting out the walls.
