  1. Nice hat and fast sevice! Fits just right. I ordered it a day after my post friday night late and its here monday! WOW!!!!! Never get that fast of service out hear.
  2. OOOO yes! My divide time is waterfoul hunting. I have been seen with a shot gun sitting next to me in the boat. Mabey the turk will visit the shore. Just remember the boat rocks:o. Even with a bow.
  3. If you were to tip the saw blade 10 or 20 deg. to the right or left. Do you think there would be more blade cutting the wood at one time creating a slope. Making it not bog down at the tail of the lure. A router has a lot of vibration, hands are numb after running one for a day. I like the blade you are using. The lure should keep its shape?
  4. The best skin to get in my mind would be a ringneck pheasant. Use salt and borax to dry the skin. After its dry freeze a day or two or microwave a couple of sec. Set it aside away from you other supplys for a couple weeks make sure the is no bugs in the before adding to your other supplys. I have lost 100s of dollers in necks adding a muskrat skin to soon. The best way to get rid of the bugs is to freeze or microwave them NOT useing pesticides. eggs get past pesticides and at times freezing. The micro heats the feather if there is moisture in it making it a little more brittle. So use caution with both methods. Also I always use shampoo and conditioner on my furs. Yes the conditioner helps. Get the cheap stuff with no sent added.
  5. Thank you for sharring this the one I was making was a lot more complex. Yours is so basic compaired to where I was headed and operates with more precision. I dont think the play is that bad.
  6. ESI bearing has up to 3" with set screws. I was going in another direction with smaller bearings untill I see this. Good job redg8r!
  7. A little challenge. Has any one tryed to pour a swim bait or beaver with two colors. Can I see a pic. I would like to see the swirl, one side semi clear the other dark so you can see the swirl threw the clear.
  8. Nothing like jigs. Welcome to the sickness..............
  9. I hope one is left in 3 hours dont like sending checks in the mail and paypal is kicking my butt:?. Need help from the wife:o.
  10. (scraping/sanding/etc;) Ever hear of "Gorilla Glue" ? Do you think mixing saw dust or foam balls with the gorilla glue and a little water would make a good bait? It would expand in the mold.
  11. If the lip is already compromised. I have sanded it a little then coated the lip with your clear coat. It seames to clear up the lip. Dont go to thick with the clear.
  12. Curious if the soot is contaminating the paint off the candle. If you like the flame I use a alcohol burner when out doors and works well but not as good as a heat gun. White for a base is very important. If the paint is not taged wrong try to use a lighter or a clean fuel on one. I wish you luck. Going to the gallery to see if you posted a pick of the jig.
  13. I second the lead heads in the last pic. They look like a good trolling head with a flat diving surface.
  14. They use slip, I think it called. Its a sloppy mud you dump into a mold let it dry for a minute then dump out the extra. For the glaze its like paint you put on before its baked then it looks like glass after its baked. I think the only problem it the distorting in the kiln.
  15. I might try the air shot. Has any one used seramic for a mold my sister has a kiln. It would be like a glass mold but sturdy. Any problems you can think of. I thinking of sanding after it kilned for a flat surface. Delw do you make small molds that are not custom.
  16. I could not find the post from 2002 2003. After reading the result I see why its not used. Still trying to find a way to pour the small plastics. I do not have a creepy crawler set but any time small plastics has been bought up in the past the creepy crawlers are talked about. The good old days. Sounds like its not posible with out injection equipment? Unless you want to fight the mold or tools.
  17. I remember a talk about the x-axis on a lure. If all the weight is in one place the center of the axis the lure has a greater wobble. When the weight is at to ends it dampens the wobble being the axis is larger or longer if you will. That might make it glide better. I think it would be intresting to see if it makes a difference.
  18. I always where a hat like my security blanket even to professional or bisiness meetings. When I have a black hat it looks good but a sweat line always gets it. It always fades when washed. White gets marked up fast but I like it. Tan is my favorite so far. I also like the original logo. A green, red or even firetiger:lol: with a contrasting color logo would look good for me. Mabey a small logo on back would be cool. Simple looks best like you have it. BUT with that being said a hat that looks like a lure the bill being the lip, that would top it!
  19. And I thought they looked at me funny when I bought nail polish.
  20. Cadman you and that stinken het tape I need some!
  21. That swivel is spotless! I need some heat tape.
  22. I would like a hat. That would be nice to order a different hat each time the other got trashed from continuous usage. Might make a good background for lure posts to. Every one will know the size of the lure and its from tu.
  23. My out look on this is it would need to be a hinged bait. That way it would always swim away from you. The line tie off would need to be in a consistant pull point. making it from wire and cutting a grove in the side of the bait to limit the movement of the joint and the pull point will be on the side. The lead weight will be moveable for instability with two holes drilled on an angle A v shape. A pop can covering the side for the weight to get as close to the side as possible and adds a rattle. When the bait stops in the water the weight will shift to one side making it bend and swim away from you. The bend in the lure with the line tie being low it will flip out of the water when pulled. If you put the line tie on the nose with out the v it and not keeping the line tie low it will most likely slide on the water. The lead ball needs to be heavy Enough to put most the lure under water for the jump and skip.
