  1. Got mine yesterday. I bet yours is already on its way. Dippers are in there.
  2. I am in the same boat. Are you talking about 3/4 in. bug maybe with little arms sticking out all over. I am trying to make ice fishing plastics (small) as well. If any one has ideas, or help I second the need for info.
  3. Any one add fiberglass to the mold to make it stronger. Or put a wire mesh on the back for strength. So you can use bolts to on a two peace mold. Even any advice would help. Stop cracks.
  4. The real preparation is going through your gear the night before you hit the pond…ditto “The types of spinners that were highlighted in your featured link were very basic and would not find a home in my tackle box. They looked pretty low end to me, but if that's what you prefer to fish with, who am I to stop you. I would rather fish spend a few extra pennies and produce a quality spinner than a piece of junk that will never see the light of day.” A really generalized statement especially when you don’t know how or what I fish for. The posting was for information purpose only not as a tackle directory for low end baits – I’m sure the posters of those tutorials don’t think that their baits are low end junk and could probably care less if they found a place in your tackle box. I appreciate their techniques and have been using similar techniques making my spinnerbaits. The first spinner baits I made looked similar to them. Still have some and at times they are the fish slayers over other high end baits. There is alot of options on hooks to use more than can be listed, A 1/0 might be a good place to start. Just grab your favorite hook and see how it looks. You are the inventer here.
  5. There is more and more every day. Thanks for the heads up.

    custom mold

I tryed the water putty and the life was short. But a good way to test an idea before getting a custom mold made.
  7. Any compresser will work. As long as you use a pressure regulator and have a good water separator. I gess the correct fitting

    complain box

    Bad day please post here.
  9. I agree with ledhed, plus with a split ring there is a higher chance when it hits the water it might get tagled with your line. There cheap enough to replace later. You want to fish on the water not repair baits.
  10. Im still new to air brushing but cant you remove the tip of your Itawa and get the spatter? Its been working for me. Out of curiosity What are the advantages of having a separate gun other than production? Nice set up by the way Im impressed.
  11. I did not under stand the epoxy could make that much difference. So I grabbed a tooth pik and coated one side. When I put it in the water the epoxy side was lower in the water. It was not alot but intresting.
  12. Just having fun. I had my first at 25 married at 20. But I see your point. There was a lot of playing for a while but there is a major lifestyle change with children.
  13. Same as daiichi or just similar?
  14. I would go with wood. There is so much you can do with it and there is alot of tools for forming it. Pete I tryed the pvc sheets to let you know unlike some others. I was not happy with it. When it was brought up I had a sheet in back at work. Cutting with table saw and sanding with a dremel was easy but the grain was course hence using devcon before painting. I was not happy with assambling it with my wire and rattles. Detail had to be added after coating it with devcon(gills). The wood is to easy to do any thing you want. This might just be me sticking to old school.
  15. I dont think of my childern as a anchor! I think of them its like taking a couple elaphants fishing or hunting. Stomping around the boat, banging the side, stomping on every stick, throwing every rock on the shore in the water, there gos about 80 jigs in the water, where did all the bait go, were did your fishing pole go. But the little hug makes every thing better.
  16. I have had a small problem with one batch of mustad hooks. That being said I use both mustad and eagle claw and would recommend mustad between the two. I have used both for a long time and will give mustad a second chance. My tempering might be off on the eagle claw but they seam weaker and bend out on a snag.
  17. My favorite color is camoflage..... Favorite lure color firetiger.
  18. I leave the lead in the pot. The crap on top is impurities remove it let it cool then get rid of it. You dont have to worry about scortching it but it not good on your molds might warp them. PS a bottom pour pot is safer and easy to use.
  19. Like a mood ring? Changes colors but more that two. I think it might stay a color longer than you think. Once it changes would you tie a new one on after every cast? Another note the temp change might only be on the high end like the 90 deg. mark. But I would like to see it.
  20. Del have to say im impressed! I have not had a lot of biz with you just once EVERY THING RIGHT THE FIRST TIME! Thank you del.
  21. I have had big blocks of lead given to me to. I do like dayooper and use a hatchet on hint is to hold the hatchet in place and hit it with a hammer cuts quite well. On a block that big I would (if it was mine) cut all of it in to peaces to feed my lee pot. If it came from a tackle shop you most likely will not have to clean it up before you put it in your pot.
