    Mold Oil

I have been useing taping oil. I might try 2 in 1. Cadman pours alot more than me.
  3. I forth that leave it in.
  4. Thank you I have been in the sticky and looked it over in the last month. I was hoping to see what others are pouring for there favorites. Im just a nerves starter. Swampbaits answered most of my questions I think im ready to make my order tonight.
  5. Are all the hook manufactures starting to slip into making faster and cheaper at any cost(or no cost)!
  6. The problem with the rust is me sharpening them and the coating is taken off the end where I have sharpend them. Leaving them unprotected. Owners carry the hook that I am using?
  7. I like the matzuo hooks but there is some inconsistent issues with hook shape in molds. They are sharp at a budget hook price. However the vmc might be a better (consistent) hook. I have and still use matzuo hooks and like them alot but there will be a few you wont use.
  8. Is that top coat 2-ton devcon? That would take alot to coat, have to be fast. Very very nice!!
  9. Thank you swampbaits the list and answers has helped me alot and mtcald confirming. Never pouring before I am in the dark. I have read the posts in soft plasics for a long time to dare put my toes in. If there is any other help in the right direction please post.
  10. The gun metal blue. I have used it on my guns and if I do not oil it after, It gets little rust spots on it fast. But thank you for brain storming with me I am still looking for a better way is there any other ideas. I have oiled them and they have not rusted yet but they have not been in the eliminates yet.
  11. Keep in mind I have not ever poured plastic before. When mixing colors do you stick with primary colors red, yellow, blue to get a color. Can you use black to get motor oil with less drops. Can some one post a pic of the differences of pearl powder and super highlite. I am planning to buy dels 1 gal soft plastic plastic additive set and large color set and making my molds for small lures. This is a starter kit for me I want to play around with alot of colors the other starter kits seamed small. And what color do you use the most or like the most?
  12. I LOVE BARLOWS!!! Every order I have sent. Even stuff that was in high demand shiped fast. To tell you the truth there service was one of the best I have used.
  13. That was my first pic post. Didn't work like I thought it would. The reason I posted this is maybe you wont have to mess with the ones that are to short. The way I started to make them is useing a coat hanger twisting the wire down it streching it out then cuting it into peaces. Then it was hard to use in molds. I can make 8 in a minute. The hands dont run like they once did. I bend the 90 first sliding it into the screwdriver bending it then twist it in the peace of aluminum twisting it backwords so the plastic will screw on righty tighty. I like to leave the last bend out and bend it loading it in the mold running it down the hook.
  14. Than you all! I will try just the oil and find out long term. Thinking that the lacquer might defeat the shapening leaving a small bubble on the end.
  15. When repacing fiber optic sights on my bow. I brake the end off and run a lighter close to it melts the end and lets more light threw. If you use smaller fibers and run them down the back of the lure coating with devcon they will pull in more light. Even running them down the lateral line of the bait will pull more light. Creekmonster That bait looks good.
  16. www.Hagens.com web site has a video on it to see how one similar works.

  19. Dont support theves!!! dont buy stolen property!!!!!
  20. I do not want to fight sending them back. I purchased 100 32798bln 4/0 now on the other sizes 3/0 and 5/0 are perfect. There are 9 with a blunt tip. It will take less time to sharpen them and I have have had alot of luck with mustad. This is my first problem with there hooks. Shiping will most likely cost more than buying more. WD-40 sounds like it will work. What do they coat them with at the factory lacquer or a dry rub on product?
  21. Part of the problem is a shipment of mustad hooks, some are not sharped. I have not had this problem before. Another question do you prefer the cone shape or the arrow point look three flat sides three cuting edges. I am hoping the sharpie is enoufh to stop the rust. If there is any other ideas I would like to here them.
  22. When you sharpen your hooks, is there any thing you prefer to dip them in or coat them with to stop the rust. I don't like to sharpen on the water.

    Got Wood

I just truly love the out doors and to see old growth trees is amazing to me. I wish I could be there to see the growth rings on the fallen tree since it might be the only chance I would have in a lifetime. I truly hope the other trees out live use and thay can tell some of our stores in the growth. PS I LOVE MEAT!!!and fish!
  24. The 4/0 hook fits all of them in my mold to. But I use 3/0 4/0 5/0 hooks sense I purchased the hooks at the same time. The 4/0 hook looks the best on the jig any way.
