  1. Contact MF and ask them. Your family is too important not to get it right.
  2. Kris, That is the age old question for retailers. How much is too much? Generally speaking, it's better to run out a little too soon than to be stuck with a ton of unsold inventory. Being able to make that judgement call is why good buyers are so important for retailers.
  3. I think it has to do with the size of the pigment particles.
  4. You think it was tough to get? It is even harder to get rid of!
  5. If I had to pick one source for all things associated with soft plastic for the hobby person, like me, it would be Baitjunky's. Good pricing, great service.
  6. I am a hard core lure junky. I admit it. I check the Hard Baits Forum often for inspiration, and always come away amazed at the work the folks here do! Hat's off to all!
  7. Getting stuck with too much inventory is what kills retailers.
  8. You give yourself too much credit!
  9. I made this years ago with a BBQ rotisserie kit and plywood discs. I suspended my 8" to 12" jointed swimbaits between the two discs, and coated them once they were "on the rack". The motor was 1 rpm, which was perfect for my E tex coatings.
  10. I have dipped clear Ikas in UV dip, and they have a violet glow in clear water.
  11. Earlier this week I ordered some stuff from LPO, and got a call from them the next day to say that something I had ordered was out of stock, and asking what I wanted to do. I really appreciate the personalized service!
  12. I modified a Lurecraft silicone mold by putting a wire hanger across the lure's body, and a wire peg at it's nose, so I could embed a weighted swimbait hook, and have it be an exposed hook bait.
  13. But I love having a quick disconnect just below my air brush, so I can remove it and do a quick lube of the trigger valve from below. And my Iwata MAC valve just before that lets me control my air pressure at the brush, instead of having to fool with the regulator.
  14. This is the medium I got: http://www.ebay.com/itm/8-LBS-Glass-Bead-Medium-Grit-MIL-SPEC-8-70-100-grit-Sand-Blasting-Abrasive-/111672165459?hash=item1a002e0453:g:VocAAOxydgZTKU6c Bear in mind I only shoot plastic a few times a month, so this is just from a hobby pourer. I spray my injector's tube after each load with spray PAM, and my O rings are still good. I do hear the grit as the injector is pushed. It may be scoring the insides of the tube, but I haven't had any problems yet, and I've been using it for two years now. When I first decided to try it, I contacted the company I bought it from, Bass Tackle, and asked if it would hurt the O rings. The woman I spoke to said it shouldn't, but she sent me some replacement O rings, just in case I did develop problems. I've never had to use them.
  15. Before I got smart and bought the matching hoses, I had so many adapters on the end of my air brushes they were too heavy to lift! I felt like Johnny Cash, "I got it one piece at a time".
  16. Can he use any other liquid to run his tests, so he's not ruining plastisol?
  17. To be clear, I do a 3 cavity 7" senko mold from one load in a 10 oz injector, and do the 6" senkos from a second load. I don't try and do multiple molds. I have enough trouble doing them one at a time! As far as I know, 350 is the temperature at which most plastisol sold to bait makers converts to it's usable form. I know there are some other plastics with different characteristics, but I've never used them. It is a small world around the Delta, isn't it? Cooch is a gem. No one knows the Delta as well as he does, and he finds a way to catch fish. He is always sharing what he knows, and why he does what he does. Plus, he makes some terrific jigs!
  18. I have a 10 oz injector. I can fill three 7" senko cavities, holding pressure for a ten count on each one. I can fill six 6" senko cavities, holding pressure for a five count on each. The last cavity sometimes doesn't fill right. I've found the limiting factor, for me, is that I can only inject at about 325 degrees, or I get lots of dents and shrinkage. I'm just a hobby pourer. Some guys here inject at lower temps all the time, but they know what they're doing.
  19. Years ago, before I used PAM for a mold release, I used to spray the garlic on my air popped popcorn! I thought maybe I could take some garlic flavored olive oil, and spray it through one of the spray bottles like I use for cleaning water, but I'm afraid it would just clog up. I may wind up brushing it on.
  20. I'm going to throw one tomorrow. I should know pretty quickly how it holds up. Thanks for the tip! I'm going to bake the spinnerbaits I haven't painted yet, so that should really make the paint schemes tough.
