I never thought about that, but, with a larger screw eye, that would be a good idea.
I've used both .092 and .072 sst eyes.
I always let the super glue squeeze out that's left when the eye is run back in act as a kind of faring, to seat the eye and keep it from rotating. It isn't bullet proof, I know, because I've removed glued in eyes before, but I needed some pliers and some force to get them to back out.
