  1. Any website needs to make money to stay in business. This one does it in a way that doesn't interfere with any of our conversations, and I appreciate that.
  2. I use a rubber hammer, and a really sharp chisel.
  3. I'm going to send him my dentist's bill, for all the tootsie pops he's sent me.
  4. Guys and gals, I think we need to move past the form, and focus on the substance. Look, as Yogi Berra would have said, rules is rules. They aren't here to suppress anyone, they're here because that's how this particular site is set up and run. If an older person like me, who struggles with computers, can figure out how to navigate it, it can't be that hard. I think of learning how a site works like how to learn to use a new bait casting setup. There's a period of adjustment, but the bottom line is whether it does what I want it to do. For bait casters, it's all about fishing. For this site, it's all about learning, and sharing, and it works for me the way it is set up now. I'm grateful it's here.
  5. Long ago I used to throw scampi's on lead heads. Also thumper tails on lead heads. I'm pretty sure any of today's big worms, like a 10" ribbon tail, will work, but I haven't fished the salt for years.
  6. I don't stir until the plastisol has converted, turning clear and runny, and then I stir in my color and flake.
  7. Once you get it mostly out, you can try wiping it down really well with acetone to get the rest of the plastic off, and then shooting some spray PAM on the inside before you do your next batch.
  8. For my microwave (20 year old Sharp 1000W) it takes 3+minutes to get a cup of plastisol close to 350.
  9. I'm sure this is probably a dumb question, but couldn't you make this mold work, with a little JB weld alterations? http://store.do-itmolds.com/Shad-Blade-LurebrSz-12-34brHk-35517-or-3551brCollar-NA_p_1000.html
  10. Please PM me. I've lost your contact info.
  11. I personally enjoy reading the forums, and don't mind having to go to the galleries to look at the pictures. But I grew up reading books and newspapers, and still enjoy them more than reading a book online. For me, once I learned how to do it, adding a link here to pictures in the Gallery is easy. I just wish it would open in a separate window, so I could go back and forth to look at the things the poster talks about here. As it is now, I reopen TU and open the link in that tab so I can have it handy during the discussion. As to whether or not the site needs to update it's policy, I am so slow on a computer that I feel like a dinosaur. Between being of a generation where computers are still amazing, like the bar code readers in markets, and having a pair of hands that no longer work at warp speed, I struggle with all the new features. Having said that, my kids fly on all the devices. Their computer skills are light years ahead of mine. It's like it's in their DNA, but they have been learning it since grammar school. So what is a struggle for me is easy for them, and I can see how the forum rules could be frustrating for people who grew up with the technology. Maybe the mods are more like me.
  12. Here's a link to DoIt's new senko molds...not their Essential series, which I love, but glossier surfaced: http://store.do-itmolds.com/The-Gary-Yamamoto-Senko-4-5-and-6-inch-4-Cav_p_177.html
  13. For me, it depends on which mold I'm going to pour/shoot. I use a DoIt Essential mold for my 5" senkos and 3"grubs, both of which I inject. I made my own 6" and 7" two piece senko pop molds, and I inject them. For me, injection is faster and easier. But I also have homemade two piece pop molds that I hand pour, too.
  14. I am completely computer illiterate, and have no idea what is involved with the site and it's setup. I would PM Nathan and ask him about a rules review/change.
  15. For my own personal use, I coat my blades with nail polish, and it holds up, if I let it cure a day before fishing them. If the polish chips or comes off, I wipe the blade with acetone, and then recoat.
  16. I don't think naming the "tattle tale" serves any purpose, other than to give us someone to blame. I think it is pointless to argue over the rules. They are how this site is managed. If we break the rules, we are to blame. Kinda like when we get pulled over for not wearing our seat belts. It's our own damn fault! I don't think the rules on this site are "against" anyone. They are there to keep this most excellent site working, and they are what the site managers feel serves it best.. I used to be one of those people who skipped reading the instructions until I'd already tried, and failed, to do something. Over time (far too much time) I've learned to read them before I begin. So I read the forum rules, and learned how to post pictures in the galleries. We don't need to reinvent the wheel.
  17. Cutting them up into small pieces exposes more of the insides, so they dry faster. You can also put the cut up worms on a cookie sheet and leave them in the oven, set on 170, for half an hour to speed up the drying process.
  18. I'm guessing it's because you posted several pictures of your baits, not just one to illustrate your point. It's always a judgement call whether a picture should be posted here, and I'd probably err on the side of more, but then this forum would turn into a gallery of everyone's work. I just post them to the appropriate gallery, and add a link here.
  19. Dumb question time. Why won't the 706 claws do the same thing, if they're poured from the same plastic?
  20. Bass 100, I am so sorry it has come to this for you. I hope things work out for you, and that you'll visit us here on TU from time to time, just to keep us honest.
  21. I think Barbara Hershey got her lips from LPO.
  22. Will the green colorant change the look of the flake? Maybe it would lighten a fine purple flake?
  23. Those baits look really good! Where do you get your glass beads, and are there any dos/dont's in using them?
