  1. I should have added that I don't want to get involved with shipping. That's why I said if you're local, stop by.
  2. I'm sorry to hear that. Please pass my condolences on to his family, if you can. One of the hard parts of life is losing people. It is what makes our time here so precious, and what we do with it so important. But there is never a good way, or a good time, to lose someone.
  3. I don't know if this has ever happened to anyone else, but it was one time deal for me, so far. I was throwing 3/4 oz tandem blade, chart/white with a small colorado and large indiana, in off colored water a few years ago, with a trailer hook and a split tail trailer. When I pulled it past a shallow shelf and back over the main channel a 5lb bass ate it. When I got her into the boat, both hooks were up under her chin, which made my partner and me think she had eaten the blades, and thats how both hook wound up under her. As I said, it's only happened to me that one time, and my partner, who has bass fished for 30 years and competed professionally before a successful battle with the big C, said he'd never had it happen or even heard of it.
  4. You should! You've come up with a great bait!
  5. Do you remember the old vibrating hockey game from years ago? That would make a great multi-bed vibrating table.
  6. Are there transparent plastic colorants vs. opaques, like in air brush paints?
  7. I've got the right stuff now, 50 lbs of it, so the offer is back on. If you live near LAX, and want to try some, PM me and you're welcome to some. I'll never use all 50 lbs.
  8. Have you tried speeding the drying process with a hair dryer? How many coats do you apply, and what's the recoat time?
  9. Thanks. And thanks for the heads up about scratching the injector. I'll watch out for that if I decide to inject some senkos.
  10. I should have known you'd already tried or thought of everything I thought of. Good luck with your toothy critters.
  11. Monte, Are you able to get more than one pour out of your clear plastic before it begins to yellow?
  12. Great and fun videos, Metal Meister!!! On the more shallow spoons with the eyes that you said were restricted too much by the feathered tail, would adding a second split ring at the feathered treble allow the spoon more freedom of movement and increased action? How about a swivel?
  13. Here's a picture of two glide baits I foiled with BriteBak silver foil. The one on the right, and the one on the bottom: http://www.tackleunderground.com/community/index.php?/gallery/image/12099-glider-group-1/
  14. I think they pay by piggyback/pirating on the WiFi on our cellphones when we're fishing for them, and charging it to us.
  15. Yeah, there are no more secrets or surprises, if you use the internet. It's a double-edged sword that way. But, back in the 60's, my truck's tube radio died, so I wound up with a small transistor radio hanging from the wind wing. I never heard bass, and couldn't even understand most of the lyrics. So now, with the nice radio in my truck, it's like all the songs are new, but the tunes are familiar. I even find myself going online to check some of the lyrics, because I thought they were different, way back when I first heard them. I was actually relieved when I found out no one else understood the words to Louie, Louie and Inagodaofvida. Hahaha
  16. Yes, and it works fine for me. But, as I said, I don't really need it with transparents, only pearls and opaques. I don't need it with transparents because they are thin enough for me to spray straight from the bottle, unless they are old and somewhat thicker. Then I do use it.
  17. The bass have internet now.
  18. I shoot Createx transparent colors straight, but always shake the bottle well before I put it in the brush. I thin pearls with Auto Air 4011 reducer. Same with Wicked colors, unless I'm shooting their white or black for a base coat with my Badger siphon, .05 needle.
  19. I have the same air brush. I think the adjustment nut on the back determines how far back you can pull the needle to allow more paint through the brush. If it won't spray now, you may have forced the needle in too far, and opened the nozzle. I did that, and my brush worked poorly after that, until I replaced both the needle and the tip. I thin my paint until it's like skim milk, and do multiple coats. For base coating with Wicked Air paints, I use a Badger siphon brush, which has a bigger nozzle, .05. I find the Wicked Air paints dry faster and better than the Createx, so I can spray a heavier coat and still not trap moisture.
  20. I will take your word(s) for it, because I haven't had any experience with blade wire that small, or with cable. That coated wire looks pretty amazing. I just watched their video on LPO. How do you attach it to your lie tie wire and hook?
  21. I found that VMC swimbait hooks are a little easier to bend without breaking. I use these, and have been able to open the eye by hammering an awl into it, and then closing with a pair of channel locks. But the eye on a 3/0 is pretty small. I haven't tried a chatter blade in one. http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/VMC_Ike_Approved_Heavy_Duty_Swimbait_Hooks_4pk/descpage-VMCHDSB.html
  22. Chris, I'm still using my Brite Bak foil. I do a belly strip, two side strips, and then a top strip, burnishing the edges before I apply the next strip. It's plenty good for what I need. I don't do jigs, I mainly do cranks, but I love learning from people like you.
  23. Thanks for the heads up. Years ago I made a 12 cavity POP hand pour mold for Ika bodies, so I won't have to worry about scratching my injector.
