  1. It looks to my unprofessional eye like your mold is very well vented, but that may allow air to be sucked back in as the plastic cools and shrinks. I would try holding the injector under pressure a bit longer, once the cavity is filled, and maybe injecting at a lower temp.
  2. Dave, Is there such a thing as a good engineering mind? Hahaha
  3. That sounds good Gino. I can't wait to read it!
  4. Have you tried bending over the top of the chatter blade? I do that on chatterbaits, and they stay down even when they're burned fast.

    Crawfish 2

Really well done! Let us know how the foam holds up.
  6. I have some weighted Matzuo light wire swimbait hooks and they are very strong. I don't know about their jig hooks, or whether they will fit your mold.
  7. Since salt water is more dense than fresh, I'm guessing you should weigh a cubic centimeter of salt water, and adjust you ballasting accordingly.
  8. Thanks Dink. How does it affect the action?
  9. Has anyone figured out how to add a chatter blade to a spinnerbait? I've done it with cranks, but I'm wondering if it would work on a spinnerbait.
  10. That is similar to what Hazmail (Pete) did with a wooden disc. He tooled a semicircular channel in the edge, and then glued in overlapping pieces of sanding cloth, so he can sand a radius on a blank really fast.
  11. Check with Jim at Predatorbaits.com
  12. Man, you nailed it right out of the box!
  13. It is truly a remarkable system, at least to my hobby pouring eyes. I appreciate how they figured out how to heat the injector, and return the unused plastic to the pots with the injector. I'm sure there are lots of other neat things about it, but those are the things that stood out to me.
  14. Ben and Bobs, Thanks for the links and the instructions. I have a Napa near me, so I'll check out the Super Lube. Yeah, we don't get hard water here half the year like some, but it gets hand-hurting cold, believe me. Heck, it's in the 70's this morning, and my hands already hurt! Next time around, I'm going for young and healthy, with a big dose of rich!
  15. Should I be lubing my flex shaft (I know, I know) and, if so, what should I be using?
  16. Ask your question here: http://forums.tackletour.com/viewforum.php?f=47&sid=3640b43dac5fe1e4dcf8669250d1a5de
  17. Go to the Spinnerbaits Gallery, upload your pictures there, and add a link to them in you posts here.
  18. Kinda like what Starbucks did for coffee. Less for more money. Hahaha
  19. Bobs, I do notice that the flex head in my dremel gets hot when I do heavy sanding/shaping. Probably the bearing/bushing you mentioned. I don't use it enough to warrant an upgrade at this point. I do like the idea of a chuck instead of the collet, and the 1/4" shaft option.

That is a really interesting design, well executed. What's the action like?

    Looks great! Nice job.
  23. Ah, the wonders of technology! Hahaha
  24. I also use a dremel with a flex shaft. I do a lot of shaping with a dremel sanding disc, so the flex shaft is a lot handier than having to hold the actual motor.
