  1. And clean your brush really well immediately after spraying the Future. It will set up like concrete in your brush.
  2. I just want to say to all those affected by this massive storm system I'm pulling for you.
  3. I've used them for wake bait bills and as turning vanes (bills set at 45+- degree angle in the side of the head) for rotating top water baits that rest on their sides, and then rotate up to vertical on the pull. I wouldn't use them for a crank that would hit rocks or wood, because, to me, they are too soft.
  4. Hahaha...like the time I ran into a pot.
  5. Thanks. That sounds like what I had in mind.
  6. I find that for the PVC cranks I make, having the ballast at the front hook hanger, or just in front of it, helps to keep a good X'ing at the pivot point. I keep my rattles separate, and just below the centerline of the bait. I weigh my rattles, and subtract that from the ballast I've determined I need.
  7. Whatever happened to the smaller hex vibrating jig blades you used to sell?
  8. Looks great! In a baby bass or bluegill scheme, it will get bit. Can you walk the dog with it?
  9. I'll give that a try. I bought one when they first came out, along with one of each style, but never got around to throwing it, because I was so disappointed with the other baits.
  10. Old belt sander belts work great, too.
  11. Oil based urethanes do yellow with time. That's why it is prefered for red oak floors, to add a rich, amber tint over time. Water based urethanes do not yellow. That's why it's used on maple floors, and any floor where the natural color of the wood is to be maintained.
  12. Makes sense, or as least as much sense anything in the crazy hobby makes! Hahaha
  13. I am using 8lb fluoro, and a slow retrieve. For me, the whole advantage to a hunting crank is in clear water with a faster retrieve. I just can't get a Scatter Rap to not blow out with any kind of speed on the retrieve. Maybe it's meant for off color water. I'm lost.
  14. For me, bending the blade lets me fish it deeper at a decent speed. The flat blade brings it up to the surface on a fast retrieve.
  15. I know that, in government, common sense is outlawed, for sure.
  16. Al, I'm just wondering why it has such a strong effect. I use a match head in a cup of plastic and it seems to dominate the bait.
  17. Bob, Will Solarez seal red cedar?
  18. The only retrieve that works for me with the Scatter baits is a slow one. Any speed and they blow out. Am I missing something?
  19. I have made hunting cranks by drilling a crossways hole low in the belly, and just behind the front hook hanger. I determine how much ballast I need, and then subtract the weight of a .22 caliber sst ball bearing that I put in the crossways hole, so it's free to move from side to side. It's tricky to get the amount of side to side movement right, but it give the bait a darting side to side action, when the ball is shifted from one side to the other during the retrieve, changing the center of gravity.
  20. A really creative way to make a lure!!! That looks great. Let us know how it swims.
  21. Why does hilite powder seem to migrate to the surface of plastics when you pour them? Is it squeezed toward the surface during the cooling, or is it just so strong that it only seems to migrate?
