  1. guys what is the best hair to tie Float-N-Fly Jigs?? i have read that deer hair is good and i have also read that craft hair is better. i apreciate ya help Thanks Richard

  3. skeet is right, i would use flex coat thread finish hands down, i have used it fo years and it still looks as good now as it did when it was new
  4. Guys I did a thred search and didn't find anything about using foil leaf (gold or Silver) that you can get at craft stores, have any of you guys tried it and if so whats your opnion about it. snooterfish

  6. guys i have have a ring missing from a guide. do i replace the complete guide or do i remove the ring from the new guide and incert in the old guide? if i need to replace the old guide do i remove the old thread and rewrap or do i take the old guide out and epoxy the foot of the new one using the previous thread? Richard
  7. guys i have had a guide ring thats fallen out. Where can i get a new guide or ring replacement. Its a 6' 6" Allstar Titanium Graphite. it has TICH guides and Zircron (forgive my spelling)ring inserts. Its the third guide up, i think its a #8. snooterfish

  9. guys i was wondering if the fore grip, reel seat and the rear grip( on a spincast or baitcaster) made of wood be worth it? i was courious to what effect that moisture and temp. varriations thru the season and being stored in a boat rod locker would have on this setup. i appreciate any thoughts that anyone would have about this subject. snooterfish

  12. i recieved a yellow flyer attached to my order form it was about some crank bodies that i recieved. " THESE BAITS HAVE A DIVING BILL MADE FROM CIRCUIT BOARD MATERIAL. THE BILL IS PEGGED NOT GLUED AT THE TIME OF ASSEMBLY. THE BODY IS SOLID AROUND THE BILL TO PREVENT LEAKAGE. THE BILL MAY HAVE SIDE TO SIDE MOVEMENT IN THE BODY> WHEN THE BILL IS PRIMED, PAINTED AND TOPCOAT WILL SEAL THE LIP INTO PERMANENT POSITION" Do you guys think that the steps listed are enough to make the bill solid? What would you guys do in this case? Richard
  13. i am no lure carver yet, i am wanting to make a few lures represent a Rapala DTF series. they sell some wooden bodies with the lip slot already cut, theres one problem, the slot is cut in in the wrong place. its lure body #4. i would appreciate anything you guys might think i could or should do richard

A "Capone" for a witness?????? in TN where i fish (Douglas) the minmium smallie you are allowed to keep is 22". it sounds like your luck is like mine. good looken fish in the photo. hummmmmm!! a "Capone" for a witness???? remember the monster in Calif. that the guy released? they have done everthing but seign that place and still no record yet. i don't blame you tho for trying. good luck in trying to catch it again. hey, no offense in the Capone humer. richard
  17. thanks guys for the help. i think i will look elsewhere, maybe janns. i have a couple rods to build, i may as well go ahead and order blank parts and crank bodies at the same time and save a $ or 2 on S & H. richard
  18. guys , i am wanting to get some of the wooden lures bodies from lure craft that would be close to a rapala DTF series. if some of you guys who have done this for a long time would take a few minutes and go to lurecraft.com and look at there crankbaits and componates list and give me your honest opnion. i could order a bunch of different ones but my budget is a little on the week side . i appreciate any help you would offer me. richard (snooterfish)

  20. guys all i put on the bearrings was one drop of oil and very little grease on the gears. i've always heard "grease the gears and oil the bearrings" snooterfish
  21. well guys my lures passed the ultmate test yesterday. they caught fish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that made all the work and re doing and re painting worth while. i just cannot quit , i even wake up in the middle of the night with ideas and color schemes. is this normal????? snooterfish
  22. i serviced my reels the other day and i used the red grease and the red hot sauce oil. i fished yesturday and i noticed a reddish white film on my diamond bars. is this the nature of this type oil? is so is this good or bad in the preformance of my reels richard
