  1. I found a guy who has some green and blue 1/4" eyes. Not the ones I'm looking for, but it is something different from what is out there.
  2. Any chance you could measure them and let me know. 5/16" is too big, I really need 9/32, but I would take 1/4" if I can find them.
  3. I've noticed the type of scissors is important too. Buy some sharp thin ones!! Try to make the trimming one continuous cut rather than a bunch of short choppy ones. It will look better.
  4. I looked at the animal eye place, but they all have the posts on the back. I don't want the hassle of cutting and grinding what is left off. Delw, I'm looking for the WTP 949 backing on the eyes. I can find them in 1/2" but I think they are a special order item which requires a 10K minimum order from WTP. I think they call the color "changing hologram" at least that is what my normal supplier calls them. I've seem them on paddle tails swimbaits so I think there is someone out there who sells them.
  5. I've checked all the normal sources for 1/4" & 9/32" 3D eyes. I can't seem to locate a supplier who has the sizes with colors other than, red, silver, chartreuse, gold, and flouro. Anyone know who carries eyes in any other colors other than the ones mentioned above?? WTP really isn't an option, I don't need that many.
  6. With all the weighted swimbait hooks selling like wildfire right now Mustad can get them fast enough. It won't belong before people are selling them below cost like they sell 100 senkos for $15. It will drive the rest of us right out of business. I believe there is a place in India or somewhere like this who may have some, but minimum order is 30K hooks.
  7. Here is a Okie colored swimbait I poured for a guy a few months back. I used the normal green pumkin and blue colors [del-mart]. You need to cloud both colors up with a drop or two of white depending on how much plastic you have in the cup. Then just add a boat load of large blue and black glitter. I added a gold strip to this bait just to break up the colors a little.
  8. Bass, They are not to hard to pour. I open the mold and throw the non-bolt side on a hotplate and get it warm. Pour the first two colors like you would any normal 2 color worm. Then put the mold back together and pour the final color down the hole. When pouring the first 2 colors don't over fill or get to close to the open end of the mold, other wise it will clog on you during the final color. You can also add a chartreuse tail if you wish.
  9. Isn't this the same dude who wouldn't let you buy a pack of Basstrix from Bass Tackle Depot w/o purchasing the same amount in other tackle? Isn't this the same guy who is making bank selling Basstrix on Ebay?
  10. yeah, sign me up too. I'm tired of paying $30 per pound for the old square rubber.
  11. IMO, it really depends on the bait or mold. What I would do is order a pint or quart of each and see which one works best for you. I use heat stablizer when pouring any light colored bait.
  12. ditto, to what 152nd said........
  13. You just answered your own question. A thicker bait will always be darker than a thinner bait. Use less color on the thicker pours. I always heat, add color, make a test pour, then add more color if necessary.
  14. High country = cold water fish Check the Jackson Hole websites for fishing guides, there is about 1000 of them.
  15. There are a several options available. Bullet Weights Inc, makes a hollow core wire that comes in 1/4" and 3/16" dia. It is sold in a roll for 5 or six bucks. I used to buy it at the local Sportsmans Warehouse. I'm sure you can find it elsewhere. The second option is to buy a lure body mold from Do-It. The kind used to make the old Roostertail type spinner bodies will work depending on the length you need. Aside from the weight issue, the problem I encountered with the RC antenna is de-burring the ends. It seems there is always a sharp edge wanting to cut the fishing line. If your using an aluminium mold like the chub e or bobs a little modification is needed with the pins so you can pour the plastic after the weight and/or antenna is inserted in the mold. I think I still have some pictures somewhere. If you would like them send me a PM. Whatever you choose don't use copper or brass for a insert.
  16. It is a two piece mold, but pours from the top. You can see more examples on www.lakextackle.net
  17. I got one last September at 22.25" and 8lbs even. Imagine what she would have weighed in March/April. So yes, a 22-23" smallie could weight in excess of 9lbs. The one in the picture posted by Ghost looks like the real deal to me. What I look for in a picture is the fatty part where the tail meets the scales.
  18. Does anyone know where Janns Net Craft buys their pointer 78 & 100 jerkbaits?? I need a large volume.....
  19. Cape Cod Tackle.... The only place to order in smaller than 1000 units.
  20. Can Oommoo silicone be used as a mold for plastic baits??
  21. Don't feel bad I've been waiting for 1/2" 3D silver eyes from Stamina since Thanksgiving. I have $300 worth a swimbait orders sitting on the finishing table waiting for eyes. The folks who who ordered them are getting impatient. I've searched everywhere for another source of 1/2" 3D eyes, if anyone has one please let me know. If this goes on much longer I'm going to get stuck with the custom ordered baits and a potential loss of future customers.
  22. I sold my Chub E mold a few weeks ago and I didn't save any of the inserts. I suppose if these were made just a little longer they would work for that mold as well. Hopefully, I will have a picture up before the day ends.
  23. I have tried for months to come up with an alternative weight insert for Bob's 6" swimbait. The brass weight or nickle plated brass insert is just not heavy enough. I've tried just about everything at one time or another. I finally come up with a 1/2oz weight with an 1/8" aluminum tube inside the lead. It fits the mold nice and pours really well. They are a little labor intensive to make, but it works better than a mojo weight. I'm not sure how to resize the pictures. If anyone would like to see them PM me with your email or I can email the pics to someone else and they can post them.
  24. I use the soft for worms or drop-shot baits only. I use med- for everything else. You can always mix the two or buy a little hardner for the soft.
